Honestly, when I first pulled up to Chikyuutabikazoku USJ Ⅱ on Baika street in Konohana-ku, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior – it’s tucked into this quiet residential area that feels worlds away from the Universal Studios chaos just a few minutes down the road. But that’s actually what makes this place so clever. You get all the convenience of being ridiculously close to USJ (I mean, you can literally walk there in about ten minutes through the backstreets), but you’re staying in an area where actual Osaka families live, complete with tiny convenience stores and that gentle hum of everyday Japanese life.

The building itself has this modern family-hotel vibe that really works – it’s designed specifically for groups and families visiting Universal, which explains why the rooms are surprisingly spacious by Japanese standards. What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything’s laid out. The lobby smells faintly of that clean, almost sterile scent you get in newer Japanese hotels, but in a good way, you know? Check-in was smooth, and the staff actually knew enough English to help with Universal ticket questions, which saved me a trip to the park’s front desk. The rooms have this practical, almost apartment-like setup with enough space to spread out all your theme park gear – and trust me, after a day of hauling souvenirs around USJ, you’ll appreciate having somewhere to actually unpack everything properly.

Here’s what really sold me on the place: the location gives you options most USJ visitors don’t even know exist. Sure, everyone talks about the convenience factor, but what they don’t mention is that you’re also a short walk from Nippombashi station, which connects you to the rest of Osaka without dealing with the tourist crowds. Late at night, when you’re exhausted from the theme park, that quiet walk back through residential streets feels like a gentle decompression – no flashing lights or crowds, just the soft glow of vending machines and the occasional cyclist heading home. The neighborhood has a couple of family-run restaurants that close early, so if you’re planning to eat dinner nearby, you’ll want to wrap up your USJ day by 7 PM or so. Otherwise, there’s always the 24-hour convenience store about two blocks away that stocks surprisingly decent hot food. It’s that perfect sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing a slice of real Osaka life, but you haven’t sacrificed any of the convenience that makes a Universal Studios trip actually enjoyable.

  Traditional Japanese home. Beautiful doors and layout of the home. Very spacious and clean.

  駐車場付きで立地も良く、車で移動する私たちにとってものすごく良かったです。
  駐車場のシャッターも開けにくいこともなくスムーズでした。
  また、２階の床が傾いてるとの口コミもありましたが、そこまで気にもならず快適に過ごせました。

  8人で宿泊でしたが、ベッドも多くダブル×2、シングル×4で快適に寝れました。
  近くに歩いていけるファミマもありました。
  何よりも車庫があるのがよかったです。
  食器、調理器具も豊富でした。
  
  What could be improved: 車を止めるには車庫の柱を外さなければいけなかったところと、
  2連泊なので問い合わせたところタオルが1日分の用意しかなく洗濯機があるので洗濯して下さいとの回答だったので料金は支払ってるので宿泊数分のタオルの用意はしてほしかったです。
  ですが事前の問い合わせは返信も早くこちらも不足分のタオルを準備していくことができたのでそこはよかったです。

  部屋の広さも充分で、ベットもしっかりしていたので、とても良かったです。駅も近く良い旅ができました!

  今回は6人で利用させて頂きました。
  広くて寝室もセミダブルのベットもあり、ゆったりと寝られました。
  
  What could be improved: 退室時に軽く掃除機をかけようと思いましたが、充電が殆どされていなかったので、掃除機が使えなかった。
  あと、一階のトイレが臭ってて、改善した方が良いかと思います。
