Welina Hotel Premier Nakanoshima West Overview
You know what struck me first about the Welina Hotel Premier Nakanoshima West? It’s tucked into this surprisingly quiet pocket of Nishi-ku, right on Edobori Street, where you can actually hear yourself think despite being smack in the middle of Osaka. I mean, when you’re dealing with a 4-star place in this city, you’re usually trading peace for location, but somehow this spot manages both.
The thing about staying here is that you’re literally on Nakanoshima island – well, sort of an island since it’s surrounded by the Dojima and Tosabori rivers. Most tourists have no idea they’re even on an island, honestly. But what this means for you is that you’ve got these incredible riverside walks right outside your door, and when the cherry blossoms are doing their thing in spring… I mean, it’s almost unfair how pretty it gets. The hotel itself sits right where the business district starts to soften into something more residential, so you’re getting the best of both worlds without the usual chaos of central Osaka beating down your door at 6 AM.
Now, I’ll be straight with you – a 7.4 rating tells you this isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s going to do everything well enough that you’ll sleep soundly and check out feeling good about where you spent your money. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid Japanese business hotel, maybe a touch more spacious than usual, and the staff actually seems to care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth when I was there, even with my terrible Japanese and their patient English. What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole area knowledge thing – they’ll tell you about the little ramen place two blocks down that doesn’t look like much but serves the kind of tonkotsu that’ll ruin you for anywhere else, or point you toward Osaka Castle (which is closer than you think) without making you feel like a clueless tourist.
The location thing is actually pretty brilliant once you figure it out. You’re walking distance to Yodoyabashi Station, which connects you to basically everywhere you want to go, but you’re also close enough to Kitahama that you can easily hop over to the traditional side of things when the modern city gets to be too much. And here’s something most people don’t realize – you’re about a 15-minute walk from some of the best coffee in the city, tucked away in these narrow streets that feel like secrets even though they’re not really. The area gets genuinely quiet after business hours, which is either perfect or boring depending on what you’re looking for, but if you want to crash hard after a day of temple-hopping and street food hunting, it’s honestly ideal.
Best attractions in Osaka range from the majestic Osaka Castle to the bustling Dotonbori district and elegant temples overlooking the historic Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine and Shinsaibashi shopping area.

Reviews of Welina Hotel Premier Nakanoshima West
Kenneth from United Kingdom – 25 April 2025 (7/10)
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was good. A lovely breakfast spot called Oriental Cafe just down the street from the hotel. Lawson's is connected to the hotel. The staff were friendly.
What could be improved: Unlike many hotels in Japan there were very few amenities, no tea or coffee in rooms and no lotions in Onsen.Elois from France – 12 January 2025 (8/10)

Clean, modern rooms. Many amenities including a public bath present. Direct door to lawson from inside hotel. Towel service.
Best sleep on this trip.
What could be improved: Not the cheapest rooms. The bathroom hints that the hotel has been renovated recently except for the bathrooms. Kept stubbing my toe on the ledge to enter it.Ondrej from Czech Republic – 23 March 2025 (7/10)
I was there just for 1 night and everything was OK. Spacious room, hot bath & sauna included.

Plus side theres a laundry facility within the hotel.
What could be improved: Three nights stay and no cleaning . This is their policy. Just change of towels.
Small rooms compared to other hotels in japan we stayedPaolo from Japan – 1 July 2024 (7/10)
All Facilities are good
What could be improved: staff not kind and ready to make client feel homeKatarzyna from Poland – 12 October 2024 (6/10)
Good location. Lawson downstairs.Basic rooms.
What could be improved: Found some hairs on my bed (not mine). It seems either sauna is for locals only or my key didn’t work. People with tattoos are not welcome in spa area which basically I find as bad experience as we all pay same price and in modern wold tattoos doesn’t mean that person is in yakuza. This would mean half of Europe is in mafia 🤣Kouji from Japan – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
The price was reasonable and the room was nice with calm colors. I would definitely like to stay here again.
What could be improved: There were buildings outside the window so the location wasn't the best, but it was well-connected and there were no particular issues or concerns.Simon from Canada – 4 December 2024 (9/10)
The public bath is nice.
Good price for the value.
