The rooms themselves are classic Toyoko Inn – compact but thoughtfully designed, with that firm mattress that’s somehow perfect after a long day of walking around Osaka. The walls must be decent because I never heard my neighbors, and trust me, I’m a light sleeper. Check-in was smooth as always with their automated system, though the front desk staff switched between Japanese and English pretty seamlessly when they saw me struggling with the machine. The breakfast situation is standard Toyoko fare – nothing fancy, but the rice balls and miso soup hit the spot before catching an early shinkansen. One small thing that bugged me: the elevator gets pretty crowded during morning rush, so I started taking the stairs from the third floor (good exercise anyway, I told myself).

Here’s why you should actually consider staying here instead of somewhere flashier – you get that reliable Toyoko Inn experience, but you’re positioned perfectly for both exploring Osaka and making day trips. Osaka Castle is maybe 20 minutes away, Dotonbori’s about the same, but you can also hop on the shinkansen without dealing with the insanity of Osaka Station proper. Plus, and this might sound weird, but there’s something nice about staying in a neighborhood where you see the same shop owners and commuters each day. It makes a short trip feel less rushed, more like you’re getting a tiny glimpse of what it’s like to actually live in Osaka rather than just tourist-ing through it.

  The hotel was reasonably easy to access and the staff was very friendly. The food was good as well.

  Cheap, all the necessary stuff was provided. Breakfast – it was included in price and it was different every day.
  
  What could be improved: The location was pretty far from anything. Also neighborhood is not nice and pretty noisy. I also had problems with switching off the ventilation so it was working all the time making noice. My room was just next to sign so it made it rather bright at night.

  We had a great time staying here. The breakfast was awesome! We had great Japanese breakfast which was different everyday. We stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast combination was really nice. Staff was lovely.
