The room is exactly what you’d expect from a three-star Japanese business hotel — small but thoughtfully designed with every inch serving a purpose. The bed is surprisingly comfortable (Japanese hotels really know their mattresses), and the bathroom, while compact, has one of those amazing Japanese toilets that’ll spoil you for life. What I really appreciated was how everything just worked — the air conditioning responds immediately, the TV has English channels, and there’s enough desk space to actually use your laptop without feeling cramped.

Breakfast & Amenities

The buffet breakfast is honestly better than it has any right to be for this price point. You get the usual Japanese options like rice and miso soup alongside Western basics, and the coffee is actually decent — not amazing, but definitely drinkable. Having parking available at the hotel is a huge plus if you’re doing a road trip through Kansai, though most people won’t need it given how well-connected everything is by train. The front desk also has this handy service where they’ll hold your luggage if you arrive early, which saved me from dragging my suitcase around Osaka Castle.

  The staff, and the breakfast was very very good! Also, they let me borrow an umbrella.
  
  What could be improved: I don't understand how the warm water works. I have tried all the levers. Sometimes the water is warm, sometimes hot, sometimes cold. The written explanations could be better than they are now.

  Good location, especially for the airport train from Namba. Our room had a great view from the 12th floor. We could walk to Dotonbori in around 12 minutes to enjoy food and drinks in the evenings. One of the closest subway stations, Kintetsu Nippombashi, is perfect to get the train direct to Nara for a day trip.
  
  What could be improved: Allergen/dietary labels on the breakfast foods would be great. I was very grateful for some food every morning but I think there were things I might have been able to eat if they had had allergen/dietary labels on them but I didn’t try them because I wasn’t sure, so I mainly just ate rice to be sure.

  What could be improved: This was our first impression of Japan, after concluding our trip the hotel overall wasn't bad. The main downside is that it was one of the worst beds and pillows we slept on the whole time. The room was also one of the smallest ones so value for money, maybe it's possible to find something better.

  What could be improved: We only had one small luggage per person (equal to 1 large luggage) but hotel would only keep one of our two luggage so we had to scramble to find another storage option. Even though we stay 3 nights overall.
