Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about The Day Osaka? It’s actually tucked away in this surprisingly green pocket of Konohana-ku, right near Hokko Ryokuchi Park – which, honestly, most tourists never even know exists. I mean, when you think Osaka, you’re probably picturing neon lights and takoyaki stands, not tree-lined paths and actual quiet spots where you can hear birds chirping. But here’s the thing about this place: it gets that sometimes you need a breather from all the chaos.
The hotel itself is pretty straightforward – it’s a solid 3-star that doesn’t try to be anything fancy, and I actually respect that. The lobby has this clean, minimalist vibe that feels more like a well-designed apartment building than a typical business hotel. Check-in was smooth (they had someone who spoke decent English, which was a relief), and the guy at the front desk actually drew me a little map showing the best route to Osaka Station. Takes about 20 minutes on the Chuo line, by the way – super easy once you figure out which exit to use at Cosmosquare Station. The rooms are on the smaller side, sure, but they’re thoughtfully laid out. The bed was actually comfortable, not just “fine for a few nights” comfortable, and the bathroom – well, it’s compact but they managed to fit in a proper bathtub, which felt like a small miracle after walking around the city all day. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the main tourist areas that you don’t have drunk salarymen stumbling around at 2 AM, but close enough that you can still grab late-night convenience store snacks without a major expedition.
The area grows on you, honestly. There’s this little family-run ramen shop about a five-minute walk away that locals actually go to – not the kind of place that has English menus or anything, but the kind where you point at what the person next to you is eating and it turns out amazing. And if you’re into morning runs or just need some headspace, that park is genuinely lovely, especially in the early morning when the mist is still hanging around the pond. I wouldn’t call The Day Osaka a destination hotel or anything like that, but it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real instead of just passing through. The 8.1 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does everything right without any major annoyances. Perfect if you want to experience Osaka without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble the whole time.

The hotel was nice. The staff were accommodating but not over welcoming. The room size was decent for Japan.
What could be improved: The pillows were terrible. like sleeping on rocks. Amenities such as tooth brushes and razors had to be picked up in the lobby.Jose from Japan – 24 December 2024 (9/10)
It was located next to the ocean which was pretty nice and close to USJ which was convenient.
What could be improved: The restaurant did not have much variety of food.Georg from Austria – 1 September 2023 (9/10)
Great place to relax and as home base for daytrips to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara etc.
Children loved it as well. Even the 4 year old had enough place in the garden to explore and play.Mayumi from Japan – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: 万博会場行きバスの券をホテルでくださるとの事でしたが、朝7時から時間指定先着だった点を伺えず、自分の希望時間にはバスに乗れずでした
