Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the SureStay Plus in Shin-Osaka, I wasn’t expecting much from another business hotel. But you know what? This place actually gets it right in ways that matter. It’s tucked into Nishinakajima, which honestly feels more like a real neighborhood than the tourist circus you’ll find closer to Osaka Castle or Dotonbori. The moment you step inside, there’s this clean, modern lobby that doesn’t try too hard – just solid wood accents and decent lighting that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere that cares about details.
The location is where this hotel really shines, though most people don’t realize it until they’re actually here. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Shin-Osaka Station, which means you can catch the shinkansen without dragging your luggage through three train transfers. I mean, that alone saves you probably 45 minutes of hassle if you’re heading to Tokyo or Kyoto. But here’s the thing locals know – Nishinakajima has some fantastic little restaurants that tourists never find. There’s this incredible ramen shop about two blocks north that I stumbled across at 11 PM (the kind of place with no English menu and plastic stools), and honestly, it was better than anything I had in the famous food districts. The staff at the hotel actually knew about it when I asked – they’re not just checking boxes with generic recommendations.
What really impressed me was how quiet the rooms stay despite being so close to the station. I was expecting train noise all night, but the windows actually block most of it out. The rooms themselves are typical Japanese business hotel size – not huge, but everything has its place and the bed is surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom is one of those efficient Japanese setups where every inch is used perfectly, and the shower pressure is actually decent (you’d be amazed how many hotels mess this up). Check-in was smooth even with my terrible Japanese, and they had English-speaking staff available without making it feel like a big production. Parking is available if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car from this spot. The 8.3 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails the fundamentals and throws in some thoughtful touches that show they actually understand what business travelers and tourists need. For the price point, especially if you’re using Osaka as a base to explore the Kansai region, this place just works.

Nice hotel will stay here again. The staff accepted and Amazon parcel on my behalf before arriving and was very kind. The location is great close to the train station and next to combini.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Allowed me to extend my check out and also held my luggage for me after checkout. Made my final day in Japan very stress free. Thank you.
What could be improved: Ability to adjust the temperature in the room, unless I was missing something. And perhaps a bottle of water in the fridge would be good.Gabriel from Australia – 24 March 2025 (9/10)
close to train station.
What could be improved: room was on the small sideLucia from New Zealand – 21 March 2025 (8/10)
Close to a station. Clean. Bigger rooms then are standard in Japan.
What could be improved: Disappointing fitness centre. No weights and no mat. Only a treadmill, bike, and an all purpose arm machine.Matija from Slovenia – 18 March 2025 (9/10)
Everything was nice and clean. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Room was big enough.
