Tennoji Station is right there, which means you can hop on the JR loop line and be in Nippombashi in about 10 minutes, or catch the express to Nara if you want to see those famous deer. The area has this authentic, lived-in feel that I really appreciate — you know, actual locals going about their day instead of just tourists everywhere.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed, which seems to be the Japanese way of doing things. Everything has its place, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range hotel. What really stood out was how quiet it was at night — you’d think being near a major station would mean noise, but the soundproofing actually works.
