Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about the S.Training Center Hotel? The name makes it sound like some corporate conference center, but honestly, it’s way more welcoming than that suggests. I mean, yes, it’s clearly designed with business travelers in mind, but when I walked into the lobby, there was this unexpectedly warm vibe – sort of like a boutique hotel that just happens to cater to the suit-and-tie crowd.
The location in Fukushima-ku is actually pretty brilliant if you know Osaka at all. Most tourists stick to Namba or Umeda, but this spot puts you right in a proper residential neighborhood where you get that authentic slice of daily Japanese life. You’ll hear the morning rush of salarymen heading to the nearby JR stations, and there’s this fantastic little convenience store literally around the corner that becomes your best friend for late-night snacks. The area’s quiet enough that you can actually sleep (no karaoke boxes blasting until 3 AM), but you’re still only about 15 minutes from the main action. I walked to Osaka Castle one morning – took maybe 20 minutes through some really charming side streets you’d never see from a taxi.
What really won me over was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a 3-star place. The rooms are compact, sure, but everything works perfectly – and I mean everything. The shower pressure is fantastic (trust me, this matters after a long day), the air conditioning actually responds when you adjust it, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. There’s this business-hotel efficiency to the whole place, but without that sterile feeling you sometimes get. The staff at the front desk genuinely seemed to care about helping out, not just going through the motions. One guy spent ten minutes drawing me a map to find this specific ramen shop I’d read about – turns out he was a regular there too. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s solid and includes both Western and Japanese options, plus the coffee is actually drinkable, which is saying something. Honestly, for the price point, you’re getting way more than you’d expect – it’s one of those places where the 8.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed there. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, this isn’t your spot, but if you want a reliable, comfortable base that gives you a real feel for residential Osaka without breaking the bank, this place totally delivers.

What could be improved: Location could be betterHelen from Australia – 26 May 2025 (9/10)
Room was spacious, had all amenities I needed, also had a public bath. Perfect stay overnight for when I arrived after a 12 hour transit from Australia.
What could be improved: Breakfast was quite small and limited. I was hungry very soon after and needed to go and buy something within an hour afterward before boarding the train. The check-in is also confusing – the building where my bedroom was, is across the road from where reception is. I only found it because there was another foreigner staying there who was also on the same airtrain as myself – he directed me.María from Poland – 18 May 2025 (8/10)
Close to the metro station. Nicely organized and clean
What could be improved: Room is a bit small but I guess it’s standard in Japan’s accommodationsShawnai from New Zealand – 17 May 2025 (8/10)
Location of the property was awesome, had rental bikes outside and parking lot across the road
What could be improved: The rooms are on the smaller side, although it is perfect for single people travelling. Just hard with two people and two big suitcasesAdnan from Switzerland – 16 May 2025 (8/10)
For that price everything was top!
Roger from Netherlands – 10 May 2025 (9/10)
Clean and modern hotel. It's about a 10 minute walk from Osaka station, so it's easy to get to other places.
What could be improved: Check in was in another building, this could have been communicated more clearly.Kamila from Poland – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
I liked onsen – simple one but 2 baths + sauna do the job
Big size of the room for Japan
What could be improved: Pillows were too hard
A bit of walk to metro/ train stationPolina from Russia – 3 May 2025 (9/10)
Everything was clean and just the way it is in the photos
Great location
What could be improved: WiFi was horribleMiguel from Portugal – 1 May 2025 (8/10)
Onsen very good. Modern room and hotel facilities. Good location.
What could be improved: Breakfast really disapointing. I do not recomend if you stay many nights. We stayed 4 nights and the breakfast is a fixed meal where 80% of it never change during different days. So you eat the same meal every day and it is not very good.
Also, the room layout is strange.. the bathroom is so small, that you bang your head on the door while you sit in the toilet. It is okay if you poop with open doors, but uncofortable for pooping with closed door.Antonio from Italy – 23 April 2025 (9/10)
Very kind staff, very nice room, ten minutes on foot by Osaka station
