Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first saw the name @RLiS_house通天閣, I wasn’t sure what to expect – but this little 3-star spot in Naniwa-ku turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you actually discovered something. The location is what really got me excited, though. You’re literally in Ebisuhigashi, which means you can stumble out the door and be at Tsutenkaku Tower in about three minutes on foot. I mean, you know that iconic Osaka tower everyone posts on Instagram? Yeah, it’s right there.
What I love about this place is how it sits right in the thick of old-school Osaka without feeling touristy. The Shinsekai district wraps around you here – and look, I’ll be honest, it’s a bit gritty and loud, especially at night when the pachinko parlors are going full blast. But that’s exactly why it works. You get this authentic slice of working-class Osaka that most hotels try to shelter you from. The kushikatsu joints are everywhere (there’s this tiny place called Daruma literally around the corner that locals still argue about), and the whole area has this retro energy that feels frozen since the 1960s. The street vendors start setting up around 5 PM, and by 7, the whole neighborhood smells like fried everything – which, depending on your mood, is either amazing or overwhelming.
The hotel itself punches above its weight for a 3-star. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – the staff actually spoke decent English, which isn’t always a given in this part of town. Rooms are clean and functional, nothing fancy, but they’ve got that Japanese efficiency thing down. Air conditioning works well (crucial in Osaka summers), and the walls are thicker than I expected given how lively the streets get. You’ll still hear some street noise, but it’s more like a gentle urban hum than anything disruptive. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to squeeze modern amenities into what’s clearly an older building – the WiFi is solid, power outlets are placed where you actually need them, and the bathroom setup makes sense. Parking isn’t really an option here, but honestly, you don’t need it. Dobutsuen-mae Station is a five-minute walk, and from there you can hit Dotonbori, Osaka Castle, or anywhere else without thinking twice. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be luxury – it’s trying to drop you right into real Osaka life, and it absolutely delivers on that promise.

Im the center, the room was so cozy and have everything you need in a trip
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was perfectYu from Singapore – 9 April 2025 (9/10)
The location is right next to the Tsutenkaku and beside the bustling streets of Shinsekai, you are spoiled for food, shopping and activities nearby. Not to mention Tennoji Zoo is a 5 minute walk away, get to see the polar bear dive into the pool! The room is really spacious and amenities are great, washing machine came with detergent which was a nice touch, and enough hangars and hanging spaces were provided.
What could be improved: Wish there was a place where we could store luggage safely if our next travel will be some time after the designated check-out timing, but it isn't a hotel afterall.Szostek from United States – 8 April 2025 (9/10)
Fantastic location, right next to a station, on a strip with lots of restaurants and games. The beds were very comfy, staff let us keep our luggage when we arrived early.

We are very glad with the facilities provided even umbrellas. After a long journey that moment when we enter the front door, the smell feels like home.

It’s in a great location. Right next to Osaka Tower and a train station. The room was lovely and clean and very spacious. The use of a code instead of keys made it very easy to get in and out of the building and our room.

This one is really good, we have even balcony(9t floor have a good view)
Clean, safe, have good location because there are many restaurants, but if you want see the quit citizen life it will not suit you because it is really touristic place (don’t worry you will sleep without annoying sounds) and we were glad about that. There is one elevator but do not worry, there is no waiting
