Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “@RLiS_house新大阪北” I thought, what the heck is this place? But you know what, sometimes the weirdly named spots turn out to be gems, and this little 3-star property in Higashimikuni actually surprised me. It’s tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Yodogawa-ku, about a 10-minute walk from Higashimikuni Station, which honestly most tourists have never heard of but locals use all the time to skip the crowds at the bigger stations.

The thing about this area – and I mean this in the best way – is that it feels like real Osaka. You’re not surrounded by other travelers taking Instagram photos of their hotel breakfast. Instead, you’ve got actual neighborhood life happening around you. There’s this amazing little bakery just around the corner that opens ridiculously early (like 6 AM), and the smell of fresh bread actually drifts into some of the hotel rooms on the second floor. The staff here gets that most guests are either business travelers or people who know Osaka well enough to stay somewhere off the beaten path, so they’re refreshingly straightforward – no over-the-top bowing or rehearsed English phrases, just helpful people who’ll draw you a map to the nearest convenience store without making a big production of it.

What really sells this place for me is how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re still in Osaka, so it’s not silent, but you get this nice residential hum instead of the constant buzz of tourist areas. The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star in Japan – compact but thoughtfully designed, with that particular Japanese attention to making small spaces work. The air conditioning actually works properly (which, trust me, matters a lot in summer), and the beds are firmer than what most Westerners are used to but in a good way. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived late on a Sunday – they’ve got this little night window system that works without any drama. Parking is tight if you’re driving, but honestly, why would you drive in Osaka anyway? The train connections from here are actually pretty smart once you figure them out – you can get to Namba or Umeda without dealing with the insanity of Shin-Osaka Station, which is worth its weight in gold during busy travel seasons. It’s the kind of place that makes sense if you’re here for more than just hitting the major tourist spots, or if you just want to experience what it’s like to stay somewhere that actual Osaka residents might recommend to their visiting relatives.

  A very spacious apartment located only 6 minute walk away from the train station. Check in process was straightforward and the apartment was easy to find on Google maps. The apartment comes with amazing facilities such as a washing machine and cooking facilities. The bed was comfortable, we wish we could have stayed here longer!

  What could be improved: The only think I did not liked was that it was not flexible for the time to arrive, so you have to be there at the time estipulated, sharp. Beside that, everything was really good! And I usually expect a lot from hosting services, so it was really nice

  I love the space the most: big enough to enjoy my time, with separate toilet and bath tub. Also, I was satisfied with the facilities prepared in the house. I got everything I need.

  At first we thought the property was far from the train station, we had to walk in the middle of the rain for 7 minutes, but once we got settled we figured the exact location. Near by restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: The check-in was a little complicated, the cleaning service should be more organized and guest shouldn’t be in charge of taking their own trash out! AC got shut- off in the middle of the night.
