Look, I’ll be straight with you about PlusTom Stay in Shimanouchi – this isn’t your typical hotel experience, and honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s actually an apartment-style place tucked into this residential building on a quiet side street, which threw me off at first because I was expecting some lobby with marble floors or whatever. Instead, you’re getting buzzed into what feels like a regular apartment building, heading up to room 202, and suddenly you realize you’ve got this whole proper space to yourself.

The Shimanouchi area is one of those neighborhoods that most tourists completely miss, but locals know it’s perfectly positioned. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Nippombashi – not the electronics district that foreigners think of, but the area where you’ll find these incredible little izakayas that don’t even have English menus. I mean, Dotonbori is close enough that you can walk there in about ten minutes, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear drunk salarymen singing karaoke at 2 AM. The building sits on this tree-lined street that’s surprisingly quiet for central Osaka, though you’ll definitely hear the occasional delivery truck in the early morning – nothing too crazy, just city life doing its thing.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully set up the space is. They’ve clearly put effort into making it feel like an actual apartment rather than some sterile hotel room. The kitchen is small but functional (I actually cooked a few meals there), and there’s enough room to properly unpack your stuff, which you know is rare in Japan. The bathroom has one of those Japanese toilet situations that’ll either confuse or delight you, depending on your experience level. Check-in was refreshingly simple – they send you detailed instructions beforehand, and honestly, it’s so much better than standing in line at some hotel desk. The whole building is clean and well-maintained, though it’s definitely got that lived-in apartment building feel rather than hotel polish.

Here’s the thing that surprised me most – the value is actually incredible for what you get. You’re paying 3-star prices but getting your own apartment in central Osaka, plus the staff is genuinely helpful when you need them. I had one small issue with the WiFi, sent a message, and got a response within like twenty minutes with a solution that actually worked. The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any annoying surprises. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re living in Osaka rather than just visiting, and you don’t need someone to carry your bags or fold your towels into swans, this place gets it right. Just don’t expect a concierge or room service – you’re trading those hotel amenities for space, location, and that rare thing in Japan: actually good value for money.

  地下鉄駅、コンビニに近いです。
  少し歩くと心斎橋通り、道頓堀などにも行けるので、買い物や夜出かけたい場合はとても良いロケーションです。
  部屋、キッチン、シャワーなどとても清潔でリラックスできました。疲れていたので一人一台のベッドで寝れたのがとても良かったです、

  附近有超市，以及便利商店，購物很方便，距離地鐵站不遠，交通便利，擁有鬧中取靜的地理位置。有廚房並備有各式電器，方便使用。

  地理位置相當好離地鐵站近步行約4分鐘，前後巷子都各有一家Lawson超級方便，走10分鐘到心齋橋，附近也有24小時超市。
  有兩間房間，床很大且舒適，洗澡時熱水也都很快就有，需要煮東西也很方便，有鍋具碗盤餐具備好，也有微波爐方便加熱，整體下來很滿意。
