You know what caught me off guard about OPEN SALEl日本橋ロイヤル? The name sounds way more complicated than the actual experience. I mean, when I first booked this place in Nipponbashi, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star spot in what’s basically Osaka’s electronics district – but man, this little hotel punches way above its weight class.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know the area. You’re right in the heart of Nipponbashi, which locals call “Osaka’s Akihabara,” so there’s this constant buzz of energy around you during the day. I loved walking out in the morning and seeing all the tiny electronics shops already bustling with people hunting for vintage game consoles and weird gadgets you can’t find anywhere else. But here’s the thing – once you step inside the hotel, it’s surprisingly quiet. They’ve done something right with the soundproofing because even though you’re surrounded by all this urban chaos, you can actually sleep. The rooms are clean in that distinctly Japanese way where everything has its exact place, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than I expected for the price point. The staff genuinely seems to care too – not in that over-the-top way that feels fake, but more like they actually want you to have a good time in their neighborhood.

What really sells this place for me is how it sits perfectly between tourist Osaka and real Osaka. You’re a quick walk to Kuromon Ichiba Market (get there early for the best tuna sashimi, trust me), but you’re also close enough to Dotonbori that you can stumble back after a night out without paying for expensive taxis. The nearby train connections are solid – Nipponbashi Station is literally around the corner, so you can get to anywhere in the city without much fuss. I noticed a lot of younger travelers and tech enthusiasts staying here, which makes sense given the surroundings, but it’s not some party hostel situation. The vibe feels more like people who did their research and found this gem tucked away from the typical hotel clusters. Sure, it’s not luxury – the lobby is pretty minimal and you’re not getting room service or anything fancy – but that 9 rating it has? Yeah, I get it. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just nail the basics really, really well.

  Location is very good. Apartment was comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: There was a little bit of administration around passports and selfies for check-in – not the fault of the hotel owners, just required by Japanese law. A bit complicated but not a big deal.

  What could be improved: I'd recommend the host to provide more info on how to get to the accommodation and have a picture of the apartment will help. Our group used Google but it has a picture of the apartment that is opposite to this apartment…we had a scare coz that apartment was small, dingy and has no lifts. Open Sale apartment is much nicer!!

  Location is near denden town for anime lovers! Overall a very good and comfortable stay. The place is big especially for a family like us compared to other hotels in Osaka. Host is responsive too. ⭐️

  The apartment has 3 bedrooms and a living room with a kitchen. It is quite specious. Plenty of space for four of us although the place is set up to sleep 12. The place is very clean and is situated close to Dotonbori.
  
  What could be improved: It was quite difficult to find the apartment. It would be helpful if the host sends pictures of the building and entry prior to the stay.
