You know what caught me off guard about Oasis Fukushima? The name is completely misleading – this place isn’t anywhere near Fukushima Prefecture. It’s actually tucked away in Ebie, this quiet residential pocket of Osaka that most tourists never stumble across. I mean, I was expecting some kind of disaster-themed hotel or something (terrible assumption, I know), but instead found this surprisingly polished 4-star spot that honestly feels more boutique than chain.

The location is kind of genius if you think about it. Ebie is one of those neighborhoods where actual Osaka people live – you’ll see salarymen grabbing convenience store coffee at 6 AM and kids walking to school, not tour groups taking selfies every five minutes. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Ebie Station, which gets you into the heart of Osaka pretty quickly, but the streets around the hotel are genuinely peaceful. I stayed there during Golden Week (yeah, I know, rookie mistake timing-wise) and while the city center was absolutely bonkers, this area stayed surprisingly chill. The hotel sits on this narrow street lined with small apartment buildings and family-run shops – there’s actually a tiny ramen place two blocks over that the front desk guy recommended, and honestly, it was better than anything I had in Dotonbori.

What really impressed me was how they nailed the details without being flashy about it. The lobby has this clean, minimalist thing going on – lots of light wood and these subtle traditional touches that don’t feel forced or touristy. Check-in was smooth (they had English-speaking staff, which wasn’t a given in this neighborhood), and my room was… well, larger than I expected for Japan, let’s put it that way. The bedding was seriously comfortable – I’m talking about that perfect firmness that Japanese hotels somehow always get right. The bathroom was compact but thoughtfully designed, with one of those fancy toilet seats that probably cost more than my monthly rent. You can hear the occasional train in the distance, but it’s more soothing than disruptive, especially at night when the neighborhood goes quiet.

The breakfast spread was where they really showed off – proper Japanese options alongside Western stuff, and everything felt fresh and carefully prepared. I kept running into the same handful of guests each morning (mix of business travelers and a few families), which gave the place this almost intimate vibe. The staff genuinely seemed to remember preferences and would ask how your day went when you came back in the evening. That 9.6 rating makes total sense when you experience that level of attention. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Osaka, but if you want somewhere that feels like a well-kept secret while still having all the amenities you actually need, this is your spot. Plus, staying here means you’ll probably discover parts of Osaka that most visitors completely miss – which, honestly, might be the best reason to book it.

  The house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. It is very spacious and can easily fit 4 to 5 persons. The washing masculine comes with dryer function which comes in very handy. Wi-Fi is working but don’t expect gaming speed, for us was sufficient. What is useful is the owner provided two extensions with USB cables connections. Location is about 10min walk from the Nodahanshin Station (Sennichimae Line). There are plenty of local restaurants nearby but do make booking in advance especially on weekends.

  交通相对比较方便。不远就是永旺。离商店街比较近。吃饭交通都很不错，一栋两层，可以泡澡。洗衣机有烘干功能。以及配备了微波炉和炉灶。非常适合小住

  这里地理位置非常方便，超市很近，早饭和晚饭都能在超市买了回来做，其他洗衣机洗碗机还有厨具等设备设施都非常新，我们一家人的体验都非常好，非常感谢房东在我们有问题的时候给予的及时沟通和帮助。下次有机会还会选择这里的。
