New Osaka Hotel Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – the New Osaka Hotel isn’t going to blow you away with flashy lobbies or Instagram-worthy infinity pools, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about this place that actually works really well. It sits right in Nishi-nakajima, which honestly most tourists skip over, but that’s kind of the point. You’re close enough to everything that matters without dealing with the chaos of, say, Dotonbori at 2 AM.
The location is actually pretty clever when you think about it. You’ve got Shin-Osaka Station just a few minutes away – and I mean the bullet train station, not just regular JR – so if you’re doing that classic Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka triangle, this makes your life so much easier. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel that I really appreciate. There’s a 7-Eleven practically next door (thank god), and you know what surprised me? The little ramen joint two blocks down stays open until like 3 AM, which saved me more than once after long days wandering around Osaka Castle or getting lost in Sumiyoshi Taisha.
The rooms are… well, they’re Japanese hotel rooms, so don’t expect sprawling suites, but they’re thoughtfully designed. Everything has its place, the bed is actually comfortable (not always a given), and the air conditioning works properly – which in Osaka’s summer humidity is basically a life-or-death situation. What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being in a business district would mean constant traffic, but this little pocket of Nishi-nakajima settles down nicely after office hours. The staff speaks enough English to handle check-in smoothly, though don’t expect lengthy conversations about local recommendations. They’re polite and efficient, very much in that professional Japanese way.
Here’s the thing about this hotel – it’s got a 7.5 rating, and that feels exactly right. It’s not trying to be something it’s not. The breakfast is decent (though honestly, just walk to the convenience store and grab some onigiri and coffee for half the price). The Wi-Fi works everywhere, even in the elevator. Parking exists if you’re brave enough to drive in Osaka, but seriously, just use the trains. I mean, you’re literally minutes from connections that’ll get you anywhere in the Kansai region. The whole setup just makes sense for travelers who want a clean, reliable base without paying luxury prices for amenities they’ll barely use. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need – a place that does the basics really well and gets out of your way so you can focus on exploring one of Japan’s best food cities.

Reviews of New Osaka Hotel
Magdalena from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (9/10)
My recent stay at the new Osaka hotel was very convenient, as it is located very close to the subway and train stations, making travel around the city quite easy. The hotel was impeccably clean, and despite having a "Do Not Disturb" sign, the housekeeping staff ensured that fresh towels were provided regularly, which I appreciated.
The only minor downside was some street noise; however, it wasn’t very loud, and I am unsure if the windows have double glazing. Overall, the hotel offers a comfortable environment. It seemed that most of the guests are Japanese, which gave the hotel a local charm.
Regarding amenities, complimentary in-room coffee was not available, but tea was provided instead. There was free coffee available at specific times in the lobby area, and additional coffee could be purchased during breakfast at the restaurant.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would recommend this hotel for travelers seeking convenience and cleanliness in Osaka.Fasta from Indonesia – 9 May 2025 (9/10)
Only 3 mins close by shin-osaka. Best location

Close to station
What could be improved: Aircon not on during our stay. No lift or ramps to lobby to carry large heavy suitcases. Elevator is very narrowJoseph from United States – 15 April 2025 (8/10)
This hotel is wonderfully located next to the train station. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were great, and the shower pressure was second to none. If not for the beds, I would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: The beds were like sleeping in the floor with the added convenience of being at bed height. They were so uncomfortable and the single pillow didn’t help. I’m an American traveler so maybe this is a different standard. But I did not sleep well.Zelda from Australia – 17 January 2025 (8/10)
The room, bed and bathroom were all very good Location to the railway station was so convenient and easy to access.
Staff were friendly and helpful
What could be improved: The hotel should advise which entrance to use when arriving. We arrived at the back entrance and had to walk around the block as did another customer who arrived at the same time. The site never mentioned there is no elevator, only escalators
Many people like ourselves are not comfortable taking luggage on escalators especially when going down.Sally from Australia – 21 December 2024 (8/10)

Very convenient to Shin Osaka station. The hotel is quiet and clean with a pleasant foyer. The bathroom amenities are good and the bathrobe very stylish.
What could be improved: The room is quite basic and needs a makeover. The bed is super hard and the single pillow that is provided is very thin.Ikiko from Canada – 15 October 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: we didn't get any complimentary water on arrival. breakfast was always the same. hotel didn't have any takiubin (yamato), and staff didn't speak much English.Micky from Singapore – 2 September 2024 (8/10)
