But I’m so glad I didn’t, because this place in Kizugawa turned out to be exactly what our group of seven needed for our Osaka trip.

The house sits in this quiet residential neighborhood that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos, even though you’re still technically in Osaka. I mean, you won’t find ramen shops on every corner like in Dotonbori, but there’s something refreshing about walking down actual streets where people live their daily lives. The Kizugawa area has this authentic suburban Japan vibe – you’ll see kids riding bikes to school and elderly folks tending tiny gardens. There’s a Family Mart about a five-minute walk away (crucial for late-night snack runs), and the train connections are actually pretty solid once you figure out the local station. The free parking was a lifesaver since we rented a car for day trips – and trust me, finding parking in Osaka usually costs more than dinner.

What really sold me on this place was stepping into that kitchen. It’s legitimately big by Japanese standards, with enough counter space that we could actually cook proper meals instead of surviving on convenience store food. The previous guests had left some basic seasonings, which was a nice touch. That bathtub they mention? It’s one of those deep Japanese-style soaking tubs that fits about two people comfortably – perfect after long days of walking around temples and markets. The whole place feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile vacation rental, complete with those plastic slippers by the door and a rice cooker that probably cost more than my monthly phone bill. I will say the walls are a bit thin, so you’ll hear your neighbors sometimes, but it’s mostly just normal household sounds, nothing disruptive. The beds were surprisingly comfortable too – not those rock-hard futons I was expecting. During our stay in late spring, the cherry blossoms were finishing up, but you could still catch some petals floating down the quiet streets. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to hang out and relax instead of just crashing between sightseeing marathons.

  完全に閉まらなくて使用不能、前もって明記が欲しい。オーナーが知っているのかどうか？隣の家との間がゴミだらけ！
