You know what caught me off guard about MONday Apart Premium? I actually walked past it twice before realizing this sleek building tucked into Motomachi was my hotel. It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation” – which, honestly, I loved. The entrance feels more like you’re stepping into a modern apartment complex than a typical hotel, and that vibe carries through everything they do here.

The location is pretty brilliant if you know Osaka at all. You’re technically in Namba West, but it’s this quieter pocket that locals seem to prefer – close enough to all the chaos of Dotonbori (maybe a 7-minute walk?) but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk salarymen stumbling around at 2 AM. I mean, Motomachi isn’t exactly a famous street, but that’s the point. You’ve got Family Mart literally around the corner, and there’s this little takoyaki stand that the hotel staff actually recommended – turns out it’s run by this guy who used to work in one of the big Dotonbori spots before going solo. The apartments themselves feel substantial, not like those cramped business hotels you usually get stuck with. The kitchenette actually works (I tested it with some convenience store ramen, obviously), and they’ve got this washer-dryer combo that saved my life during a particularly sweaty July visit. What really impressed me though was the attention to small stuff – like, the shower pressure is fantastic, which anyone who’s stayed in older Japanese hotels will appreciate. The Wi-Fi doesn’t slow to a crawl when everyone’s streaming Netflix, and the AC unit is whisper quiet.

Check-in was surprisingly smooth for a place that feels more like serviced apartments. The staff spoke solid English without that overly formal hotel script, and they actually gave me useful neighborhood tips instead of just handing over a generic tourist map. One guy mentioned that the Kuromon Ichiba market gets crazy touristy after 10 AM, so hit it early for the good stuff – turns out he was completely right. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for mid-rise buildings in this part of town. What really sells me on this place is that it feels like you’re living in Osaka rather than just visiting it. The neighborhood has that authentic residential energy during the day, but you can still stumble back from Shinsekai or Amerikamura without any complicated train transfers. Plus, that 9-point rating isn’t just inflated reviews – you can tell they’re doing something right when Japanese business travelers are choosing to stay here over the big chain hotels.

  Surprisingly clean although carpeted but what was a standout was how polite and helpful the reception staff was and how there was even a letter with recommendations on nearby attractions and food written for us. Near gyms, cafes, convenience stores and not too far from Nankai airport line. Will be back for sure!

  The property is conveniently located just a few minutes away from Namba Station, allowing for a pleasant stroll or a budget-friendly taxi ride when you have a lot of luggage. Nestled in a more relaxed neighborhood, it offers a pleasant contrast to the bustling atmosphere of Osaka's nearby attractions, such as Dotonbori and Shinsekai.
  
  Check-in was easy, and the staff were very friendly. The room was both spacious and clean, comfortably accommodating 4 to 5 guests. There was a delightful aroma, which may seem trivial, but I definitely appreciated it, especially since I’ve encountered other accommodations (not MONday Apart) in Japan that had very unpleasant odors.
  
  Overall, our stay at MONday Apart was enjoyable, and we wished we stayed longer. It’s slightly pricier than the average basic hotel in Japan, but that’s understandable considering the generous room size. I highly recommend staying here and I will also be on the lookout for this hotel chain the next time I visit Japan with a group.

  The very friendly reception staff. I was impressed, for example, that a reception employee helped unload the elevator when the cleaning staff had to unload the laundry.

  Location is very good with many car park nearby.
  Have individual washing and drying machine in the washroom, it is prefect.

  Stayed here as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 12 years old).
  
  While the property is overall very clean, with nice welcoming reception, and comfortable night sleep with 10 minute walk to Namba station, I have called out some things we didnt like or that made us rate it lower.
  
  What could be improved: 1. The room has absolutely zero view. it has a shaded window that is of no use and you have to accept that you are in a room with no views at all.
  2. The concierge/front desk needs quite a bit of improvement. Given the property is lacking in being a top location and having no view, it can make up for it by having outstanding staff that go out of their way to recommend day trips, recommend itineraries, book restaurants, book taxis for you etc.. We found the staff to be nice but not particularly knowledgeable or very informed about recommendations.
  3. Water to drink – would be good to have a daily replenishment of water in the room
  4. AC was not working and when we enquired, we were told as it is a colder time of the year they close it for the entire building.
  5. Coffee machine – the room had no coffee machine or any coffee amenities, which would be nice to add.

  What could be improved: If you need to utilize the sofas as beds, they are extremely hard so uncomfortable to sleep on. I put the spare pillows and cushions on top for me to sleep on.
