Mitsui Garden Hotel Osaka Premier Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Mitsui Garden Hotel Osaka Premier, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical business hotel. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Japanese — clean lines, natural materials, and just enough modern touches to remind you you’re in a four-star property. What struck me most was how quiet everything felt, despite being right in the heart of Osaka. The staff greets you with that perfect balance of professionalism and warmth that Japanese hospitality is famous for.
Prime Nakanoshima Location
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re on Nakanoshima island, which honestly feels like Osaka’s best-kept secret. It’s this little oasis between two rivers where the city’s cultural heart beats strongest. The National Museum of Art is literally a five-minute walk, and you can stroll along the riverfront parks without dealing with the chaos of Dotonbori (though that’s easily accessible too). Couples especially seem to get this location — there’s something romantic about those evening walks along the water. The nearby Osaka Station means you’re connected to everything, but when you come back to the hotel, it actually feels like a retreat.
The Room Experience
I’ll be honest — the room sizes aren’t huge by Western standards, but they’re thoughtfully designed in that efficient Japanese way. What really impressed me was the bed quality; I mean, I’ve stayed in places twice the price with beds half as comfortable. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms have this nice urban energy. The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, and there’s something satisfying about the high-tech toilet controls (you know you’re in Japan when even the bathroom feels futuristic).
Amenities That Actually Matter
The public bath is where this place really shines — it’s not a full onsen experience, but after a day of walking around Osaka, soaking in those deep tubs hits differently than a regular hotel shower. The buffet breakfast deserves a mention too; it’s this great mix of Japanese and Western options that actually tastes fresh, not like it’s been sitting under heat lamps all morning. Parking is available on-site, which honestly saves you a headache if you’re driving (though I’d recommend the trains for getting around the city). The whole building has this calm, almost zen-like atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here isn’t just one thing — it’s how everything works together. You get that authentic Japanese hospitality without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap. The location gives you easy access to both the cultural side of Osaka and the foodie districts, but you’re not dealing with constant noise and crowds right outside your window. Plus, there’s something reassuring about the Mitsui Garden brand; they know what they’re doing, and it shows in the details. For the price point, you’re getting solid value in a city where hotel costs can spiral quickly.

I enjoyed the hot onsen on the 16th floor. The lounge was fine, but I liked that I could get drinks whenever I wanted.
What could be improved: Don't have comment.Po from Hong Kong – 17 June 2025 (9/10)
Great location and quiet but only few mins. walk to subway. The room size is good and with onsen. There are lots of restaurants within walking distrance.
What could be improved: nothing, everything is good.Rory from United Kingdom – 10 June 2025 (7/10)
The hotel is very pleasant overall — nice facilities and good value for the price.
What could be improved: The only oddity was the strict 3pm check-in policy. Most hotels will allow guests to head up early if rooms are ready, but here, they held everyone in the lobby until exactly 3pm. As a result, there was a full crowd waiting and then a long queue that lasted about an hour just to collect room keys.Irene from United Kingdom – 9 June 2025 (8/10)
This is probably one of the best Mitsui Hotels I’ve stayed. Spacious clean room with river view, breakfast is amazing, their indoor and outdoor onsen is the best, staff are so attentive, there is a free shuttle service to Osaka station every 15-20min. I will definitely come back again when visiting Osaka.
What could be improved: All perfect for the price I paid forFrancesca from Saudi Arabia – 8 June 2025 (9/10)
The onsen on the roof is top
What could be improved: All great. Room are small by middle eastern standards but they are super cozy and very well organized – all you need is thereMarcia from United States – 8 June 2025 (9/10)
We didn't have breakfast
What could be improved: A hard check in at 3pm. Because of travel, we got there way early. If a room had been ready early it would have been nice to access it.Stephan from Namibia – 1 June 2025 (9/10)
Hotel Restaurant was great.
