Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “MGranz Tanimachi 4 chome 601,” I thought I was booking some kind of corporate housing nightmare. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked into this quiet residential pocket of Tanimachi that most tourists completely miss, which is exactly why it works so well.

The building itself is modern Japanese minimalism done right – none of that sterile hotel chain stuff, but actually thoughtful design that makes sense. You know what I mean? Like, the entry feels calm instead of trying too hard to impress you. The elevator’s quiet (thank god, because thin walls are the curse of so many places in Osaka), and honestly, by the time you get to the sixth floor, you already feel removed from the city buzz below. Room 601 has these huge windows that look out over the neighborhood’s mix of old houses and newer apartment blocks – it’s not a postcard view, but it’s real Osaka life, which I actually preferred to staring at another hotel across the street.

What really got me was how the location works in practice. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Tanimachi-yonchome Station, which connects you to both the Chuo and Tanimachi subway lines – so getting anywhere in the city is actually easier than from some of the “central” hotels that charge twice as much. But here’s the thing locals know: this neighborhood has incredible food that tourists never find. There’s this tiny yakitori place two blocks down Tanimachi-suji that doesn’t even have a sign in English, and a convenience store right around the corner that’s open 24/7 (crucial for those late-night snack runs). The area gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which means you’ll actually sleep well – something you can’t say about Dotonbori or Namba.

The apartment itself feels like what you’d get if a Japanese friend let you crash at their really nice place. Everything works perfectly, the shower has proper pressure, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it for a week. I mean, it’s not huge – this is central Osaka, after all – but it’s smartly laid out in that way Japanese spaces always seem to be. The kitchen’s functional if you want to grab groceries from the Sumiyoshi Taisha market (about ten minutes by subway), and the wifi never dropped once during my stay. Small thing, but the building’s security is solid without being annoying – you need a key card for everything, but it’s not some complicated system that makes you feel like you’re breaking into your own room every night. Honestly, for the price point and that 9.3 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises: a clean, comfortable base in a neighborhood that gives you a real taste of how Osaka locals actually live.

  i love this place.Very convenient as it has konbini nearby and not too far from station as well…around 150 m to 200 m I guess.The property also very clean and comfortable! super alike and would like to check in again in the future if I go visit japan again 🙂

  這間飯店位置非常好，如果是拖行李的話可以從地鐵8號出口搭電梯，出來就會看到全家，過個馬路就會有lawson，超級方便！並且只要再繼續走不到五分鐘就會到飯店，離鳥貴族、唐吉軻德、大阪城也很近！
  這間是一個很安靜、很乾淨、一層一戶、進出都是電子鎖、性價比很高的飯店，之後如果還有機會來到大阪，這間完全是首選～～～非常推薦！
