Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “MGranz Tanimachi 4 chome 201,” I thought I was booking some corporate housing nightmare. But you know what? This little place completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Osaka at all. You’re right in Tanimachi, which – okay, it’s not as flashy as Namba or Umeda, but that’s exactly why it works. It’s this quiet residential pocket where actual Osakans live, and you’re literally a three-minute walk from Tanimachi-Yonchome Station. I loved being able to grab the subway and be in Namba in ten minutes, then come back to this peaceful neighborhood where the only sounds at night are the occasional bicycle bell and the soft hum of vending machines. There’s this tiny family-run ramen shop around the corner that doesn’t even have a proper sign – just follow the steam and the smell of tonkotsu broth.
The apartment itself (because that’s really what this is – more of a serviced apartment than a traditional hotel) feels like staying in someone’s well-kept city pad. Clean lines, everything you need but nothing extra, and honestly, the bed was way more comfortable than I expected for a 3-star place. The kitchenette is small but functional – I actually cooked breakfast a couple times using ingredients from the Lawson downstairs. What really got me was the attention to small details: proper hangers in the closet, a decent shower with actual water pressure, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is in some Osaka hotels). The building itself is quiet, which I appreciated after spending days in the controlled chaos of Dotonbori.
Check-in was smooth, though it’s one of those keypad-entry situations rather than a traditional front desk – just so you know what you’re getting into. The whole experience feels very modern-Japanese-minimalist, if that makes sense. It’s definitely not luxury, but it’s thoughtful in a way that makes you feel like the owners actually care about their guests’ experience rather than just processing bookings. I’d absolutely stay here again, especially at this price point, and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Osaka like a local rather than a tourist. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – this is about location, comfort, and that rare thing in travel: genuine value.

Morgan from Australia – 3 March 2025 (9/10)
The location was easy to get to, very close to the train station and had some nice places to eat close by as well as easy access to the supermarkets. There is a small kitchen which made it easy to get food to cook at from the supermarket. The 4 beds were comfortable. Close walk to Osaka Castle. Very good coffee shop on the street.

駅から近く、コンビニもあり大阪城は徒歩圏内でいい場所でした。 部屋もきれいで広く家電もそろっていて便利でした。
What could be improved: テレビの接続が悪いのか映らない時が多く朝晩は見たいのでコンセントを挿し直すと直るを繰り返しました。Betty from Hong Kong – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
