You know what caught me off guard about Liaison Court Nishikujo Universal Bay? It’s actually not trying to be fancy, and that’s exactly why it works so well. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star place, but honestly the 8.7 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a night there. The building sits right in Konohana-ku – which, if you’re not familiar with Osaka, is that sweet spot where you’re close enough to Universal Studios to walk there (seriously, like 10 minutes), but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep.

The apartment-style setup is where this place really shines. Instead of cramped hotel rooms, you get actual space to spread out, which is pretty rare in Osaka unless you’re dropping serious cash. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either – there’s a decent-sized fridge and everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the konbini downstairs rather than eating out every meal. I actually loved having morning coffee on the little balcony, watching the early commuters heading toward Nishikujo Station. Speaking of which, that JR station is maybe a 5-minute walk, so getting into central Osaka or over to Namba is dead simple. The Hanshin line runs right through there too, which locals know is often faster than taking the more obvious routes tourists usually take.

What really sold me on this place – and I think why it scores so high with people – is that it feels like staying in a neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. The street it’s on (that stretch of Nishikujo) has this relaxed residential vibe during the day, but there are actually some solid izakayas tucked away nearby that you’d never find unless you were staying around here. The soundproofing is surprisingly good too, considering you’re so close to the train lines. I was expecting to hear every train rumbling by, but honestly? Slept like a baby. The only minor thing is that check-in can be a bit slow if you arrive during peak times – they seem to only have one person handling it – but the staff genuinely tries to help, even with limited English. Plus, having a washing machine in the unit is clutch if you’re doing the whole Japan trip thing and living out of a backpack. It’s these little practical touches that make the difference when you’re actually trying to live somewhere for a few days, not just crash between sightseeing marathons.

  Near train station with grocery stores and fast food 24 hours restaurant nearby and only 1-2 station away from universal studio. It has all the amenities like a mini apartment for cooking, laundry and a small table. Can fit a family of 4 nicely.

  We liked that the place, despite let us checking in at 16:00, have a room for guest arriving early to drop off luggages. We also liked the room's overall cleanliness and odorless, the comfy sofa and expandable table, the shower room with strong water flow, the android TV, the kitchenware, plenty of clothes hangers, etc.
  
  What could be improved: No elevator(we brought 2 large luggages and got to stay in the 3rd fl. room😓), no water bottle refill for guest staying more than 1 night.

  I love that the property is so clean and the location is just in Nishikujo station Osaka loop line. The amenities are complete.
  
  What could be improved: There is no elevator. We have 2 large luggage and had to carry them on the 2nd floor which is a struggle.

  Location and facilities were great. The skype check in was a bit complicated for us but the hotel gave us another option to send the document needed via email for check in, which was excellent.
  
  What could be improved: Not sure if i requested for 3 people per room, so one room for 4 people was not that a good choice for us. Other than that, everything was lovely.
