Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Kashikiri Ikkenya YUME when I first booked it – the name alone had me practicing pronunciation in my head. But walking into this place in Nishi-ku, you immediately get why it scores an 8.6 with guests. It’s tucked away on Chiyozaki street, which actually works in your favor because you’re getting that authentic Osaka neighborhood feel without the tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The whole “kashikiri” concept is brilliant if you ask me – it means private rental, so you’re not dealing with random hotel guests wandering the halls. It feels more like staying at a really well-designed friend’s place, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste in Japanese interior design.

What really gets me about YUME is how they’ve nailed the details that most places completely overlook. The tatami has that perfect give under your feet – not too soft, not too firm – and honestly, the smell when you first walk in is this subtle mix of fresh tatami and maybe a hint of hinoki wood that just makes you exhale and relax immediately. The windows are positioned so you get morning light but not the harsh afternoon glare, which someone clearly thought through. And you know what’s rare? The walls are actually thick enough that you don’t hear every conversation from neighboring rooms. I mean, it’s still Japan so space is at a premium, but they’ve used every inch intelligently. The bathroom setup surprised me too – they managed to fit a proper soaking tub without making the whole space feel cramped, though you’ll want to master the whole washing-before-soaking routine if you haven’t already.

The location is one of those things where you realize the locals know something tourists don’t. Chiyozaki isn’t flashy, but you’re a short train ride from Namba and Dotonbori when you want the full Osaka experience, and then you can retreat back to this quiet pocket when you’ve had enough of the crowds. There’s a convenience store about two minutes away (essential for morning coffee and late-night snacks), and I stumbled across this tiny ramen place around the corner that definitely doesn’t see many foreign faces but serves bowls that’ll ruin you for mediocre ramen forever. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering staff or complicated procedures, just clear instructions and everything you need to settle in. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but everything works exactly as it should, and sometimes that’s worth more than marble lobbies and overpriced room service. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Japanese accommodation and modern comfort, YUME delivers without the pretense.

Very good location that anything you want just within walking distance. Spacious place for family especially with young children that they can have their own room to hangout. Highly recommended for everyone 👍🏻

  • Himmatlal from India – 29 October 2022 (9/10)

    Easy

What could be improved: Nothing but parking should be available

  • Zilvinas from Lithuania – 14 October 2022 (8/10)

Walkable distance from city center, so you can spend more time in the city without worrying about coming back late. Nice neighbours, roof terrace.

What could be improved: No free parking, some troubles with hot water.

  • Joshua from Singapore – 11 March 2025 (9/10)

The house was big and spacious enough for 9 people. It was close to 3 stations, with 2 being very close and 1 being a bit further away. Good facilities like shopping malls, eateries and laundromats nearby.

2 toilets and 2 baths were very sufficient for most groups.

What could be improved: The only caveat was that the heating was a bit insufficient. Those sleeping in the first-floor room nearer to the door felt that the heating was not good enough and resorted to sleeping on the couch in the living room.

And we went there in early March. If you are going in Winter, this could be an even bigger issue.

  • James from United States – 25 July 2024 (8/10)

It was close to the Aeon mall and train access.

What could be improved: It was very hot inside the unit. The air conditioning was not sufficient for the building.

  • Witchuta from Thailand – 19 April 2024 (8/10)

Location is not far from Namba. Big family can fit in a house. Beds, toilets and rooms were comfortable. Staffs were friendly.

What could be improved: Construction site was beside , noisy in the morning. Check out was too early. Room doors made the noise when opened or closed.

  • Griet from United Arab Emirates – 5 April 2024 (8/10)

Everything is available in the house. It's very quiet with good access to transport. Everything has been communicated very clearly.

What could be improved: A bit strange, 4 double beds in 1 room. So, families only……..book for an easy stay

  • Nur from Malaysia – 29 December 2023 (8/10)

The location was near to the AEON (Dome-mae) mall, about 5 mins walking. The mall has bus and train station- it was easy to get around Osaka. 2 spacious bedroom- one bedroom contains 4 super single beds, one bedroom has tatami that can fit 5-6 people + 2 single beds. One living room with kitchen and sofa (and can sleep in there too). 2 baths, 1 washer, 3 toilets, 1 accessible rooftop which u can dry your clothes. we were a family of 7 adults + 7 children. They enjoyed the house.

What could be improved: the steep stairs, so had to remind the kids many times to be careful and not to play at the stairs. it was winter and we were wearing socks all the time because the floor is so cold. that adds more cautious to us as were going up and down the steep stairs.

  • Joe from Malaysia – 18 March 2023 (8/10)

The space good for family and walking distance to the subway and nearby Aeon shopping mall. Quiet neighbourhood

What could be improved: The staircase very narrow, if you bring a lot of luggages, then will be a challenge to carry up
