You know what caught me off guard about Kashikiri Ikkenya Sora? I was expecting just another small Osaka hotel, but this place actually feels like staying in someone’s really well-designed private apartment. It’s tucked away on Tanimachi in Chuo-ku – and I mean really tucked away, like you’ll probably walk past it the first time because it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. The whole building is essentially yours when you book it, which explains the “kashikiri” (private rental) in the name. Honestly, this setup is perfect if you’re traveling with a group or family who wants space to spread out without dealing with tiny separate rooms.

The location is actually pretty clever once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re about a seven-minute walk from Tanimachi 6-chome Station – not the most famous stop, but it connects you to both the Tanimachi and Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi lines, so getting to Dotonbori or Osaka Castle is surprisingly straightforward. What I really appreciated was how quiet this stretch of Tanimachi gets after evening rush hour. During the day there’s some street noise (it’s Osaka, after all), but by 9 PM it settles into that peaceful residential hum that actually helps you sleep. The nearest konbini is literally around the corner, and there’s a small supermarket two blocks down that’s open until 11 PM – super handy when you want to grab breakfast stuff or snacks.

The space itself feels more like a serviced apartment than a traditional hotel room. Everything’s clean and functional, though don’t expect luxury finishes – it’s a solid 3-star property that knows exactly what it is. The kitchen area is actually usable (not just decorative like some places), and the washing machine was a lifesaver during our week-long stay. I mean, the bathroom is compact – this is Japan, so no surprises there – but the shower pressure is decent and the water gets properly hot. One small thing that bugged me: the WiFi can get spotty if you’re using multiple devices, but it’s fine for basic browsing and messaging. Check-in was smooth, though they do prefer if you arrive during their stated hours rather than super late. The staff speaks enough English to handle the basics, and they left detailed instructions (in English and Japanese) for everything from the air conditioning to the building’s front door lock system. Honestly, for the price point and that 8.1 rating, this place delivers exactly what it promises – a comfortable, private base in central Osaka without the tourist hotel markup.

  The vibe of japanese house was amazing. The property is well maintain, very clean and comfortable. It was looks like you have your own house in Japan. Very strategic, close to the fresh market and stations. What I regret is I don't had the chance to try a free bicycle provided by this house!!

  Great sized comfortable apartment for our family (6) in Japan, loved having a fully equipped kitchen. And separate rooms, heating was much needed and appreciated for late December. Shower was awesome. Communication with host was excellent and very responsive!

  There are total 3 rooms and lots of beds. Enough for 3 families. Place is clean.
  
  What could be improved: Only one toilet and one shower, may be a problem for large group. Bathroom and shower room are a bit tight. No table/desks in any of the rooms.

  As my family's (5A) needs leaned towards the basics, the property met our requirements for a comfortable stay.
  ~ cosy house located in a quiet residential area, making your stay feel like a "home away from home".
  ~ 5mins walk to the Tanimachi 6-chome subway station.
  ~ less than 5mins to the supermarket and 7eleven konbini store.
  ~ easy walking distance to the Karahori shopping mall that has many cafes, local restaurants, and shops/supermarkets.
  ~ the house is clean, spacious enough for 5ppl to move around, with room for your luggage to store, and bedding for everyone.
  ~ provided free internet access and a TV
  ~ has basic kitchenware/utensils, a microwave, kettle, drip coffee maker, and rice cooker.
  ~ provided just enough bed linen, towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and toothbrush for 5ppl. It's nice that there's plenty of hot water and it's temperature regulated at 40°Celsius.
  ~ has a washing machine, but the dryer is coin operated and charges ¥100 per 60mins per load. Note that it can take several loads for your clothes to dry fully as there really is no room to air dry your clothes.
  ~ free use of (2) bicycles, just remember to lock them back in place.
  ~ easy check-in / check-out process.
  ~ communication with host was prompt with messages answered within 24-48hrs.
  
  What could be improved: ~ it's a 2 storey house and the staircase is narrow and a little steep which can be hard for some people to go up and down them.
  ~ the air-con in the living room might need maintenance as it was noisy, but you eventually get used to the "ambient sound of cicadas" after a while.
  ~ No option to air dry your clothes if you don't want to pay for using the dryer.

  Comfortable, cosy house. Supermaket 2 mins walk. Excellent location and the place is clean. Comfortable for 6 adults + 2 child. A lot of restaurants nearby. 25 mins walk to Dotonbori. 10 mins walk to subway. It would be perfect to have bathroom on the ground floor. Will book again.
  
  What could be improved: 2nd floor dont have toilet . . Not enough space to dry the laundry. I can't find table cloth. Staircase to 2nd floor small and narrow .

  The place is clean, everything is working well and I like how comfortable is the bed. Even the sofa is nice and comfy. My room got a good decoration which is with One Piece Figure and also a lot of manga.

  We absolutely loved our stay at this apartment in Osaka! The location couldn’t have been more convenient—just a short walk to the train station, which made getting around the city so easy. There were also several convenience stores and a supermarket nearby, which was perfect for grabbing essentials or a quick snack.
  
  The apartment itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. After a long day exploring the city, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge.
  
  The check-in process was smooth, and the host was responsive. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Osaka. Highly recommended!
