Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no hovering staff or complicated procedures, just efficient and friendly.

Here’s the thing about staying in Juso that most visitors don’t realize: you’re positioned perfectly between the Umeda business district and the more laid-back northern areas, but without paying Umeda prices. There’s this fantastic little shopping street called Juso Shotengai just five minutes away where locals do their grocery shopping – it’s got that authentic, slightly cramped feel with vendors who’ve been there for decades. And honestly, the train connections are better than staying in some of the more “central” tourist areas. You can get to Kyoto in about forty minutes, or hop over to Kobe easily. The neighborhood has this lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re experiencing actual Japanese daily life rather than performing tourism. Sure, it’s not luxury – this is solidly three-star territory – but it’s clean, functional, and surprisingly comfortable. The kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because it just works, you know?

  The location was perfect for all travel between Osaka, Kyoto, or Kobe. It is less than a 3 minute walk from Juso station and Juso was full of amenities, shops, restaurants, and the like. It was perfect for a stay longer than a week
  
  What could be improved: It got quite humid on some of the rainy days and it was a bit difficult to figure out how to optimally use the AC. The boiler should have two notices, as I didnt know how to work it from the bathroom alone.
