Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw JAPAVISTA Fuji’s address in Nishinari Ward, I hesitated a bit. This isn’t exactly the touristy part of Osaka that most guidebooks push you toward. But honestly? That turned out to be exactly why this place works so well. Tengachaya is this wonderfully authentic neighborhood where you’re more likely to bump into locals heading to work than crowds of tourists taking selfies, and the hotel sits right in the middle of it all without trying too hard to be something it’s not.

The building itself has that clean, understated Japanese aesthetic – you know, the kind where everything looks simple but you can tell serious thought went into every detail. Check-in was refreshingly smooth (no complicated forms or upselling), and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations, not just the obvious ones. My room faced toward the quieter side street, which I appreciated since Tengachaya Station can get a bit lively during rush hours. The space felt bigger than typical Japanese hotels – I mean, you’re not going to be doing yoga in there, but I could actually open my suitcase without rearranging all the furniture. What really got me was how they’d thought about the little things: proper hooks for wet clothes (crucial in Osaka’s humidity), outlets positioned where you’d actually use them, and blackout curtains that, well, actually black out the room.

Here’s what I think makes this place special though – it’s positioned perfectly for people who want to experience real Osaka without being stuck in a tourist bubble. You’re a quick train ride from Namba or Dotonbori when you want that energy, but you come back to a neighborhood where there’s this fantastic little ramen shop two blocks down (the one with the red lantern – locals line up there around 7 PM), and a convenience store that stocks better onigiri than you’ll find in the busy districts. The area gets properly quiet after 9 PM, which is gold if you’re dealing with jet lag. Parking isn’t really an issue here since most people use trains anyway, and speaking of trains – you’re literally a three-minute walk from Tengachaya Station, which connects you to both subway and Nankai lines. I actually found myself preferring this setup to staying right in the thick of things. Sometimes you want to retreat somewhere that feels less like a stage set, you know? The 9.6 rating makes sense when you think about it – this isn’t trying to be the flashiest hotel in Osaka, but it absolutely nails what it’s going for.

  キッチンや家電が充実していて便利でした。洗濯機と乾燥機完備で、長期滞在にもぴったり。快適な滞在ができました！

  友人3人と宿泊しましたが、部屋はとても清潔で、リネン類も新しく感じました。バスルームも広く、シャワーの水圧も十分でした。Wi-Fiも高速で、仕事をするのにも困りませんでした。近くにスーパーやコンビニもあり、生活に便利な立地でした。

  家族4人で滞在しました。3LDKの間取りは十分な広さで、子供たちも自分の部屋を持てて喜んでいました。キッチンには必要な設備が揃っており、自炊も問題なくできました。最寄りの天下茶屋駅から徒歩8分とアクセスも良く、観光の拠点として最適でした。また利用したいと思います。

  ・写真通りでとても綺麗な部屋でした。
  ・ベッドが大きく寝心地がよかったです。
  ・食器類、油・塩・胡椒、コーヒー、アメニティ、タオル、洗剤、ティッシュ、傘、など必要なものが揃っていた。
  ・お風呂が綺麗で使いやすかった
  ・チェックアウト時の片付けの指示などはなく、楽だった
  ・メールや電話で応対がとても丁寧でわかりやすかった
  
  What could be improved: ・駅から少し遠い(徒歩10分ぐらい)
  ・駐車場はなく、狭い路地のため荷下ろしをするスペースがなかった。近くの駐車場案内があるとよかった。
  ・バスルームが2つとあったが、共通の脱衣所に浴槽のある風呂場とシャワールームが別々にあった。この説明は写真や文章にはない。あったほうがいいと思った。
  ・冷暖房は全部屋エアコンのため、加湿器があったほうがいいと感じた。冬は乾燥しそう。(加湿器かと思ったら、大きいスピーカーだった)
  ・管理手数料を取るなら、連泊でも最低限のアメニティ補充や清掃はあるべきだと思った
  ・2階の和室は布団3枚分ピッタリと広さなのに、テーブルと座布団が邪魔だった。移動させる場所がない。テーブルは不要かと。
