Impulse Imazato Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Impulse Imazato, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place tucked away in this quieter part of Osaka. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside. This little spot on Oimazato Nishi actually turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to tell people about it (well, maybe not everyone – I kind of want to keep it to myself).
The thing about staying here is that you’re in real Osaka, not tourist Osaka. I mean, you’re about a 10-minute walk from Imazatosuji Line’s Imazato Station, which honestly isn’t the most glamorous subway line, but it gets you where you need to go without the crowds. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – there’s a family-run takoyaki stand just around the corner that locals actually go to, and I swear the owner remembered my order by the third day. The hotel itself sits in this residential area where you’ll hear the morning routine of actual families instead of tour groups, which was surprisingly refreshing. Check-in was smooth enough, though the front desk staff’s English is pretty basic – but that’s part of the charm, really. You end up communicating with lots of pointing and smiling, and somehow it all works out.
What really got me was how clean everything was and how much thought went into the small stuff. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Japan, after all – but they’re efficiently designed in that way Japanese hotels do so well. The bed was actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom, while compact, had one of those deep Japanese tubs that makes you wonder why Western hotels don’t get it. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which matters more than you’d think during Osaka summers. There’s no fancy lobby or concierge service, but there’s something to be said for a place that just focuses on getting the basics right. Plus, the Wi-Fi was solid – I could actually work from my room without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. The whole experience felt authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find, especially at this price point. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop bars, but you are getting a genuinely comfortable stay in a part of the city where you can grab amazing ramen at 2 AM and nobody bats an eye.

Basic apartment in a quiet street, close to metro station. Some small local restaurants nearby.
What could be improved: No staff, can't send your luggage.
Nothinv attractive in the apartment. The onky place we stayed in Japan where thete was not even tea bags to make yourselfa cup of tea.Marko from Poland – 24 April 2025 (9/10)
Convenience of location and fact that it has everything you need was perfect for us to have this flat as base of few days roaming around. Bed and pillows were great, bathroom with both bathtub and shower (everything is easy to set with electronic controller). Huge positive is a working washing machine (there was even detergent to use). If you stay for short time and don't plan to spend lot of time inside the flat, it's perfect choice

Good price and close to the station
What could be improved: Nothing significantDiana from United States – 25 April 2025 (8/10)
Nice quiet neighborhood. A large grocery store is a 5 minute walk away. Check-in was easy as detailed instructions were sent with door code information. Space of the apartment was perfect for 1 person.
What could be improved: The apartment definitely needs a deep clean. Crumbs under the microwave, oven hood oily, thick dust under the bed. The bedroom is quite small and the bed is against the wall, so only easy access for one person. The air conditioner is in the living area and the bedroom does not receive much air from it. I would imagine it gets quite hot in the summer.Frankhan from Netherlands – 9 June 2025 (7/10)
De ligging is goed.
What could be improved: Niet schoon. Afzuigkap zit dikke laag vet op. Dat doet vermoeden dat de rest oppervlakkig schoon is.Hirota from Japan – 1 March 2025 (8/10)
設備がとても良かった

What could be improved: 冷房にしても布団では暑くて寝れないのでスタッフに電話毛布に取り替えてと、つたえたら用意が無いからお客様が買って下さいと、こんなホテル無いと怒ったら、2日目から毛布が2枚用意された
