The room itself — well, let’s just say those guest reviews about the beds weren’t exaggerating. I’m usually pretty picky about hotel mattresses, but I slept like a rock here. The rooms have that clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic going on, and everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms have something interesting to look at.

The breakfast buffet is where this place really shines, actually. What I loved was the quality of everything; nothing felt like it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours.

The restaurant area gets pretty busy during peak times, especially when Universal Studios opens, so I’d suggest getting there on the earlier side if you want to take your time. The culinary offerings reflect a commitment to quality that extends throughout your stay.

  Exactly what you would expect from a Universal hotel. Location was perfect. Clean rooms and good beds.
  
  What could be improved: If you make this your hotel in Osaka, build in more travel time to visit the other sites. This is at the end of a subway line. Very easy to navigate, but adds a good 20-30 mins to get anywhere other than Universal.
