Hotel Noum OSAKA Overview
You know what surprised me most about Hotel Noum OSAKA? It’s tucked away in this quiet corner of Tenma that most tourists completely miss, but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. I stumbled across it almost by accident – was actually looking for a different hotel when I first walked down that narrow street off Tenjinbashisuji. The building itself is pretty understated, sort of blends into the neighborhood in that way Japanese hotels sometimes do, but once you’re inside it’s like… well, it’s got this clean, minimalist thing going on without feeling cold or sterile.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Osaka at all. Tenma is one of those areas that feels properly local – you’ve got the longest shopping street in Japan literally a few minutes’ walk away, but you’re also close enough to all the main tourist spots without being right in the thick of it. I mean, you can walk to Osaka Castle in about fifteen minutes, and the train connections are solid. What I really loved though was stepping out in the morning and smelling that mix of coffee and yakitori from the little places nearby. There’s this tiny coffee shop around the corner that opens ridiculously early – saved my life more than once when I needed caffeine before the hotel breakfast started.
The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, which is pretty much what you’d expect from a good 3-star place in Japan. Everything works exactly as it should, the bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept well (which doesn’t always happen when I travel), and the bathroom had one of those Japanese toilets that makes you wonder why the rest of the world hasn’t figured this out yet. Staff were genuinely helpful – not just polite in that professional way, but actually seemed to care about whether you found what you were looking for. One of the front desk guys gave me directions to this amazing tempura place that definitely wasn’t in any guidebook I’d seen. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be fancy or impressive, it’s just doing everything right without any fuss. If you’re the type who wants to experience Osaka like someone who actually lives there, rather than bouncing between tourist traps, this is your spot.

Peta from Australia – 14 June 2025 (8/10)
Location is great, breakfasts and staff lovely.
What could be improved: Lack of amenity in the bedrooms (no fridge, communal fridge on a different level, no kettle etc), rooms are small.Shouping from Australia – 14 June 2025 (9/10)
Staff are great!!! I especially love those Asian/Japanese staff, they're so helpful, patient and friendly. Overall hotel is very clean, even the shared bathroom and toilet, so clean. I could change my towels every day, which was good. The bed is so comfy.
What could be improved: I would like to have a small TV in the room. The previous two hotels I stayed in in Tokyo and Kyoto all had a small TV in the room. Watching some TV and listening to some music would be nice for solo travellers.Paula from United States – 13 June 2025 (9/10)

I really liked the hotel. Beautifully furnished, really cute. Rooms were also very nice as in the pictures. Great staff with very good English. Breakfast was also great and the price was ok. Everything was clean. The hotel was also very well located and you could get bikes. I would come back again.

The general vibe and aesthetic of the hotel was great! Staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the location as it was in a quieter part of Osaka but the neighborhood is very charming with cute coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast quality at the cafe was good and is the type of hotel that I would seek out when I'm traveling abroad.
What could be improved: A mini fridge and kettle in the room would make this a 10. The hotel does have a shared pantry where there's a shared fridge and hot water dispenser…but not a deal breaker for short staysStephanie from United Kingdom – 9 June 2025 (10/10)
Quirky, clean and great quality, breakfast was delicious, staff are super friendly and helpful. Walking distance of so many places, Osaka castle really close by. I walked everywhere, but it’s near to metro lines, so it’s really accessible. Water and light show every evening on the river opposite, with steps to sit on to watch it, really enjoyed that too ☺️
