Hotel. Links Namba Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Hotel Links Namba – it’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Inari that you’d probably walk right past if you weren’t looking for it. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it great. While everyone’s fighting for space around the main Namba chaos, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from all that madness but sleeping on a street where the loudest thing at night is maybe someone wheeling their bicycle past.
The building itself is pretty typical modern Japanese hotel architecture – nothing fancy, but everything works exactly like it should. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood, not just the tourist handbook version of it. When I asked about getting to Sumiyoshi Taisha early in the morning, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the nearest station – he told me which car to get on so I’d be closest to the exit, and mentioned that there’s this little coffee stand that opens at 6:30 right by the shrine entrance. That’s the kind of local intel you don’t get at the big chain places.
The rooms are, well, exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star spot in Osaka – compact but thoughtfully laid out, with that particular Japanese attention to making small spaces actually functional. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in summer, trust me), and the shower has decent pressure, which honestly puts it ahead of some pricier places I’ve stayed. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything feels clean and maintained. The Wi-Fi was fast enough for video calls back home, and the walls are thick enough that I never heard my neighbors, even though I’m pretty sure there was a family with kids next door. What really sold me on the place was the location – you’re close enough to walk to Dotonbori when you want that full tourist experience, but far enough away that you can actually get some peace when you’re done being dazzled by all the neon. There’s a Family Mart about two minutes away, and this excellent little ramen shop called Menya 7.5Hz just around the corner that stays open late and definitely doesn’t see many tourists. The Namba station is maybe a 12-minute walk, which sounds like more than it is – it’s actually kind of nice having that buffer zone where you can decompress between the intensity of central Osaka and your quiet room.

Reviews of Hotel. Links Namba
Rachel from Australia – 28 April 2025 (9/10)
Very friendly and helpful staff. Love the ice machine. Room was exactly how described. Dryer was very quick and efficient. Location wasn’t far from the major shopping strip but far enough that you’re away from hustle and bustle. Lots of convenience stores nearby and train station isn’t too far. Would recommend!
What could be improved: Breakfast was not great, probably would recommend going to a convenience store or something instead. Breakfast tasted like it had been sitting out and the next morning at 6:30 saw it already out (breakfast started at 7) but a good option if you just want to try a few local things.Stanley from Panama – 9 March 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: The toilet was very close to the door it was very uncomfortable to sit on the toilet
Brian from United States – 2 December 2024 (8/10)
It was a nice hotel.
What could be improved: N/AHong from Singapore – 30 November 2024 (9/10)
It has everything I need for a solo traveller. The room was also super comfortable and everything worked (and had the only fridge, of the 9 hotels I stayed in on this trip, that didn't hum loudly in the middle of the night). Bathroom has many different bottles of cleaners for hair, face and body. Breakfast was repetitive but for this price, it sufficed. The hotel also has free drinks service between 3pm and 12am which was a blessing when needing to work or waiting for laundry.
What could be improved: There was only 1 coin laundry and drier and you typically need 2 drying cycles to properly dry a 4-5kg load.Benjamin from Singapore – 29 November 2024 (9/10)
Decent location, a few minutes walk to Namba and Sakuragawa stations. Room was very quiet. Not sure if it was because the adjacent rooms were unoccupied or if the soundproofing was just that good, but I did not hear a peep from anyone else during my stay. Clean room as well. Hot coffee and tea are offered in the lobby 24/7.

quiet, clean, comfortable
What could be improved: slightly longer walk from station than expected. limited good restaurant options aroundFernando from Brazil – 25 October 2024 (7/10)
Not far from Namba station
What could be improved: Smoker room when I asked for non-smokerCindy from Canada – 10 October 2024 (9/10)
Wonderful quiet location very close to 2 metro lines (Namba JR and Sakuragawa line). The staff are friendly and very helpful. They have a free bicycle rental for day use and free umbrella rental for day use (make sure to bring them back!). They also have free drink service for the majority of the day with coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks. Amenities are lovely with extras in case you forgot things like razors, etc. The rooms are what I expected for a Japanese hotel room – small but every space is utilized efficiently, with a nice deep tub in bathroom. The room and common areas are clean. Bonus: Dotonbori and Namba Walk are just a short walk away, easily walkable with hilly areas or stairs, thus accessible for most people.
They also offered a makeup touch-up station in the lobby for people who forgot their makeup, etc. I thought it was a nice, thoughtful touch to their service.
Highly recommend staying at Hotel Links Namba! Thank you for the wonderful stay.
What could be improved: If you have big luggage, it will be difficult to store/unpack and organize in some of the rooms due to space. This isn't a reflection on Hotel Links, just a general find in Japanese hotel rooms. Pack lightly!Deborah from Singapore – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
lots of food options around the area. Dotonbori is a bit of a distance – about 15-20 min walk but the walk on the way is good, also a lot of options for food and cafe
What could be improved: location could be better… it's technically near the JR Namba station but it's a pretty long walk to get to Nankai line for the airport, depending on which exit you are coming from. not fun if you have a lot of heavy luggage.Lisa from United States – 10 September 2024 (9/10)
Staff was very helpful where necessary
What could be improved: Location was a little awkward at first
