Here’s what I love about staying in Fukushima — you’re actually in Osaka but away from the chaos of the main tourist areas. The JR Fukushima Station is practically next door, which means you can be in Umeda in about five minutes or hit up Osaka Castle without dealing with multiple train transfers. You know what’s great? You can walk to some fantastic local izakayas that most visitors never discover because they’re stuck in Dotonbori fighting crowds. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see salarymen grabbing quick meals and families going about their daily routines.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — and I mean that in the best way possible. Everything has its place, from the perfectly positioned reading light to the bathroom layout that actually makes sense. What really impressed me was the attention to detail: quality toiletries, a comfortable bed that didn’t feel too soft or too firm, and blackout curtains that actually work (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with jet lag). The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms give you a nice glimpse of Osaka’s urban landscape.

Hot Springs & Amenities

Now here’s where Hotel Hanshin really shines — they have an actual hot spring bath right in the building. After walking around Osaka all day, sinking into those mineral-rich waters feels like pure magic. The public bath area is clean and well-maintained, following proper onsen etiquette, so don’t worry if you’re new to the experience. There’s also parking available, which is honestly a relief in a city where finding a spot can be a nightmare. The staff can help coordinate this, and while it’s not free, it’s reasonable for the area.

Why Guests Love It

The breakfast buffet deserves its own mention — it strikes that perfect balance between Japanese and Western options without trying to be everything to everyone. You’ll find proper miso soup and grilled fish alongside decent coffee and pastries.   We stayed at this hotel because we wanted to be near the Osaka Itami airport. A word of caution: the hotel tells you that you cannot get a cab before 8 AM. We easily found one right outside and went to the airport within 18 minutes at 5am. The hotel itself is nice and clean – Right across from the train station.
