Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about hotel androoms Shin-Osaka? How quiet it actually is for being this close to the station. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Shin-Osaka Station – which is pretty incredible when you realize that’s your gateway to everywhere (the shinkansen, regular JR lines, the works) – but somehow the noise just doesn’t carry over to Nishimiyahara street.

The whole androoms concept is honestly pretty smart, though it took me a minute to figure out what they were going for. It’s this Japanese chain that’s sort of positioned between business hotels and boutique places, and they’ve nailed that sweet spot where everything feels thoughtfully designed without being pretentious about it. The lobby has this clean, minimalist thing going on – lots of wood and neutral tones – but it doesn’t feel cold like some of these modern places do. Check-in was smooth, and the staff actually spoke decent English, which isn’t always a given in this part of Osaka (I mean, you’re not exactly in the touristy areas here). The rooms are on the smaller side, sure, but that’s pretty standard for Japan, and honestly they’ve used the space really well. Good lighting, decent-sized bathroom, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable – sometimes these design-forward places sacrifice comfort for looks, but not here.

Here’s the thing that makes this place work so well: the location is perfect for people who want to explore Osaka but don’t need to be right in the middle of Dotonbori chaos. You’ve got Yodogawa River right there for morning runs (surprisingly nice green space), and you can hit Umeda in about ten minutes by train, Namba in fifteen. Plus – and this is something I only figured out after staying there twice – you’re actually really close to some excellent local spots that most tourists never see. There’s this tiny ramen place about three blocks away on the corner near the convenience store that’s absolutely incredible, and the whole neighborhood has this authentic residential feel where you see actual Osaka life happening. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, which initially seemed like a downside, but there’s a Lawson literally next door and plenty of real local food within walking distance. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (there’s a small lot but it fills up), though honestly most people staying here are using public transport anyway. The 8.7 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it does exactly what it promises really, really well.

Reviews

Excellent hotel, quite close to Shin-Osaka train station. Deluxe room a fair size and therefore very suitable for a family. Hotel modern, clean and quiet. Two pools in the spa (Onsen). After swimming, you can enjoy a free popsicle. We requested a late check-out, which was possible for a modest additional fee.

  • Han from Singapore – 10 June 2025 (9/10)

Very friendly staff who spoke English and tried their best to help us with our enquires.
Hotel seems very new. We stayed in a twin room with 2 single beds; even though room was small it was well designed, even had a sofa and bathroom with bathtub. Free soba was provided for supper between 9-11pm.

What could be improved: No shelter from Shin-Osaka Station; about 8-10min walk.

  • Andrei from United Kingdom – 10 June 2025 (9/10)

Excellently located right next to the train Station. Friendly staff, quick and easy check-in/out process, well-sized, comfortable room.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Deborah from Netherlands – 6 June 2025 (9/10)

Friendly and helpful staff. The women’s spa and amazing massage chair was lovely after several full days of walking throughout the city and the World Expo. Appreciated the ice lollies and soba noodles after as well.

What could be improved: The staff has very limited English but their friendliness and helpfulness more than make up for this!

  • Lea from Denmark – 4 June 2025 (8/10)

Close to Shin Osaka and has a public bath.

  • Amanda from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel offers complimentary noodles at night time and also has a Traditional Japanese public bath! A great experience

  • Sui from Singapore – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Breakfast was FIRE! We had breakfast for 2 of the days we stayed, and we really enjoyed the Japanese spread – there was a lot of options like tempura, curry, miso, chawamushi. But it is crowded depending on the season!

Also really enjoyed the free soba at night, it was delicious.

We also loved going to the onsen, which is equipped with massage chairs and a vanity area with various items to aid your self-care!

    What could be improved: NA

  • Ash from Malaysia – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

The free soba and free public bath

What could be improved: a bit far from trainstation so big luggage is a hassle
