You know what caught me off guard about Guest House Kubo Homes Shotenshita? Walking into this place, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – I mean, Nishinari-ku isn’t exactly the neighborhood tourists usually rave about. But this little gem sits right in Shotenshita, and it’s actually perfect if you want to experience Osaka like locals do instead of bouncing between the usual tourist traps. The whole area has this authentic, working-class vibe that’s becoming harder to find in other parts of the city, and the guest house itself feels like someone’s thoughtfully designed home rather than another sterile accommodation.

The rooms are surprisingly well-appointed for what you’d expect from a guest house – clean lines, quality bedding that actually feels good, and these little touches that show someone really thought about what travelers need. I loved how quiet it gets at night, which is saying something since you’re still in the heart of Osaka. The check-in process was smooth too, none of that awkward fumbling around trying to communicate that sometimes happens at smaller places. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this incredible takoyaki spot just a few blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, it was better than anything I had in Dotonbori.

Location-wise, you’re actually in a sweet spot that most people overlook. Sure, it’s not walking distance to Osaka Castle or the main shopping districts, but the train connections are solid, and you’ll save a ton compared to staying in the touristy areas. Plus, there’s something refreshing about coming back to a quieter part of the city after spending your day fighting crowds at Kuromon Market or wherever. The morning walks around the neighborhood became one of my favorite parts of the stay – you get to see how regular Osaka residents actually live, grab coffee from local shops, maybe stop by the small shrines that don’t make it into guidebooks. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I’m doing a longer trip and want somewhere that feels more like a temporary home base than just another hotel room. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two – it’s one of those places that exceeds expectations without trying too hard.

  The facilities are all sufficiently available for vacation stay. Great space for a large group of guests. The owner always provided a quick response with helpful information and services.

  Because the residence is close to a station, traveling around Osaka is very convenient.
  The room is quite large, new, spotless, and furnished. The space is gently arranged, and it smells pleasant. Some pictures are grouped in a tidy manner. Especially when I arrive home, I can entertain myself on two brand-new, sizable TVs that have Netflix pre-installed.
  
  What could be improved: Darker window coverings in the bedroom could facilitate sleep.

  location- we struggled little bit to find the place but because of picture owner provided, we could find. Owner gave us clear instruction for how we can get the key from locker. Price was good for 7 people( like has 4 rooms) as we try to find the place but couldnt find any good one except here! Host gave us quite enough towels.
  
  What could be improved: WE visited here winter. Weather was quite cold for us. and as we only have heater, it makes us dry so quick.
  Also We had to be more cautious about noise after certain time as we were in residential area. We were not really sure how quite we need to be. But til we leave the accomodation, we didnt hear any complain from Host. So all good!

  很棒
  天下茶屋車站附近，要去到哪裡都很方便，車站離旅宿有小段距離但不算遠。
  車站就有麥當勞，附近有 Lawson、 藥妝店、商店街(但我們沒有特別逛)，車站到旅宿也還有家 7-11，整體機能不錯。
  兩層樓共有四個可以雙人入住的房間，房型寬敞，乾淨整潔，插座很多，七人入住非常舒適，且有很大的交誼空間。
  各樓都有洗手間跟衛浴(一樓是分離式、二樓是一體式)，一樓衛浴間有洗衣機可供洗衣，有提供大浴巾。
  各層樓都有客廳跟電視，可看 Netflex 跟聊天休憩，十分愜意，也有提供簡單的撲克牌可以娛樂。
  
  What could be improved: 瑕不掩瑜
  衛浴沒有門鎖，如果有人在裡面使用的時候可能要做個記號，建議可以有個 "未使用/使用中" 之類的掛牌的讓房客使用。
  但也不是影響很大，我們的話是有人在用的時候會擺張椅子或把拖鞋留擺在門外，後面的人就知道裡面有人了。

  整体上都很棒，距离地铁有点距离，但是可以接受，沿途有商业，完全可以满足日常所需，地铁附近有超市快餐厅，药妆店。适合家庭居住，房间很干净清爽，明亮通透，设施齐全，备用品充足。

  덴가차야 역에서 멀지않고 시설또한좋았다. 가족과함께 편안한 휴식을 즐길수있어 이번 여행에 많은도움이되었다고 생각한다
  
  What could be improved: 너무 주택가에 위치에있어 저녁이되면 아이들과 같이갔는데 일반 관광지같은 느낌이 아니었으므로 조심조심해야하는 분위기때문에 좀 아쉬었다
