Honestly, when I first saw the name “Green House 10mins to USJ Expo” I thought it was going to be one of those generic rental properties that looks nothing like the photos. But you know what? This place actually delivers on its promise, and then some. Tucked away on a quiet residential street in Yoshino, it’s this surprisingly spacious house that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room.

The setup is pretty brilliant if you’re traveling with a group – and I mean, with eleven beds spread across five bedrooms, you’d better be traveling with people you actually like. The house has this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake, with tatami rooms mixed in with Western-style bedrooms. What really sold me was the four bathrooms situation because, let’s be real, nobody wants to wait in line for a shower after a long day at Universal Studios. The bathrooms are clean and functional, though the hot water takes a minute to kick in – just run it while you’re unpacking your stuff.

Getting to USJ really is about ten minutes if you know the local train system, though I’d give yourself fifteen if it’s your first time navigating the area. The walk to the nearest station is through this typical Osaka neighborhood where you’ll pass tiny convenience stores and hear the morning announcements from the local elementary school. It’s that authentic slice of Japanese residential life that you don’t get when you’re staying in touristy Dotonbori. The host leaves pretty detailed instructions about the trains, which honestly saved us from those tourist trap taxi rides.

What I didn’t expect was how quiet it gets at night – you’re far enough from the main roads that you actually sleep well, but close enough that grabbing late-night snacks or hitting up the 24-hour Family Mart is no big deal. The kitchen is fully stocked too, which is clutch if you’re trying to save money on meals or if someone in your group has dietary restrictions. I mean, theme park food is fun for a day, but after that you start craving something real. The neighborhood has this little izakaya about two blocks away that’s never mentioned in guidebooks but serves incredible yakitori – the kind of place where the owner remembers your order after one visit.

  This place is huge!!! Super clean!! Short walk to train station! Perfect for a family of 4 or a party of 12. Four floor house with a toilet and shower on every floor. Brand new towels, extra tooth brushes, soap, shampoo, a washer and dryer room, and a kitchen with everything you need for a long stay. The neighborhood is beautiful, with plenty of places to eat and drink right on your street. Even a local Cafe right outside your front door. Very easy instructions for keys and maps of the surrounding area are provided before check-in. Our new favorite place to stay in Osaka!
