Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the Four Points Flex in Shin Osaka, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another business hotel. But you know what? This place actually gets it right in ways that matter. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be trendy, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to help rather than just going through the motions.

What really won me over is how smart the location is. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Shin-Osaka Station – and I mean the kind of walk where you’re not dragging your luggage through confusing underground passages or dodging crowds. The Nishinakajima area itself is sort of this perfect middle ground between the chaos of central Osaka and complete suburban quiet. There’s a Family Mart right around the corner (thank god, because late-night snack runs are essential), and honestly some of the best casual dining I found in Osaka was just wandering the streets nearby. The locals eat at these tiny places that don’t even have English signs, but the food is incredible.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from Sheraton’s newer properties – clean lines, decent space for Japan, and everything actually works. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been hit by a train, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in Osaka. What I really appreciated were the little touches: proper outlets near the bed, a bathroom that doesn’t require contortionist skills, and windows that actually open (rare in hotel land). The sound insulation is pretty good too – I was worried about train noise given how close we are to the station, but it’s really not an issue. Well, maybe if you’re the type who wakes up at every little sound, but for most people it’s fine.

Here’s the thing that sold me on this place though – it just makes sense for how people actually travel. If you’re using Osaka as a base to explore (and you should, because the shinkansen connections are unbeatable), you want somewhere that’s not going to eat your budget but also won’t make you feel like you’re roughing it. The breakfast is solid Japanese-Western mix, nothing fancy but they know what they’re doing. Check-in was quick even when I arrived early, and they stored my bags without any fuss.

I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but that’s not really the point. This is the kind of place where everything works smoothly, the location saves you time and hassle, and you can focus on actually experiencing Osaka instead of fighting with your hotel. For a 3-star property, it punches well above its weight – that 8 rating isn’t just marketing fluff, it’s because they’ve figured out what travelers actually need and deliver on it consistently.

Reviews

  • Wenda from United Kingdom – 16 June 2025 (9/10)

The location was ideal for getting around osaka. Just around the corner from the station, connections available to everywhere in the area. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Being close to the train tracks actually helped getting to sleep, clickerty clack, very relaxing.

What could be improved: The weather wasn't great, but that's the chance you take on holiday.

  • Wenda from United Kingdom – 11 June 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is located ideally for our transport needs. We have been using shin oasaka station to get around.

What could be improved: The weather was not ideal. It's been raining alot, but it didn't stop us getting about.

  • Anne from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Breakfast good value, location brilliant next to station

  • Duangrutai from Thailand – 20 May 2025 (8/10)

    location

What could be improved: little over price

  • Desmond from Singapore – 14 May 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: The location is very near the train tracks and highway, can get a bit noisy at night if you are sensitive to sounds.

  • Camille from Philippines – 29 April 2025 (8/10)

Very close to the station and good use of space.

What could be improved: Limited space – what you see is what you get. Hard to open one large luggage fully. But otherwise, very efficient use of room space. More ideal for couples and friends but might be hard squeeze if for families with young kids.

  • Tammy from United States – 28 April 2025 (9/10)

Comfortable bed and great location near train station

  • Chenxia from United States – 28 April 2025 (8/10)

Close to Shinkansen and the subway makes it easy to get to Osaka and other places.

What could be improved: Train noise from the bullet train, but that is to be expected. It would have been nice to have a few more outlets for charging, or more shelves / hooks for hanging clothes and bags (which I've seen in other rooms of the same size).

    Pillows were both too big.

  • Matthew from New Zealand – 25 April 2025 (9/10)

Great hotel in Shin-Osaka. Staff were polite, helpful and communicated with me in English. The room was a great size and very comfortable. Close to the Shin-Osaka station, which is very handy if you are catching the Shinkansen.

  • Davin from Australia – 25 April 2025 (9/10)

The location in relation to our transportation requirements was excellent

What could be improved: Nothing really to dislike about the property
