You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked up to this place in Sanno – I mean, Nishinari-ku isn’t exactly the neighborhood that pops up in your typical Osaka travel guide. But honestly, that’s exactly what made this whole house rental so refreshing. It sits right there on this quiet residential street where you’ll hear more bicycles than tourists, and the locals actually nod hello when you’re coming back from the konbini with your morning coffee.

The house itself is pretty solid for what you’re paying – it’s got that lived-in Japanese home feel without being too cramped or outdated. Three stars sounds about right, but the 8.6 rating makes sense once you settle in for a few days. The tatami rooms have this particular smell (you know the one if you’ve stayed in traditional places before) that either grows on you or doesn’t, and the bathroom setup is typically Japanese – so if you’re not used to the whole separate toilet situation, just roll with it. What really won me over was having actual kitchen space to work with. I mean, hotel breakfasts get old fast, and being able to grab fresh stuff from the Tamade market area just a few minutes walk away and actually cook it? That’s worth the booking right there.

The location is sort of brilliant in this under-the-radar way. Sure, you’re not stumbling out your front door into Dotonbori, but the Sanno subway station is literally around the corner, and from there you can hit Namba or Osaka Station without any of the chaos of staying right in the thick of things. Plus – and this is something I didn’t expect – the neighborhood has this amazing yakitori scene that most tourists completely miss. There’s this one place about two blocks over where the mama-san will remember your order after just one visit. The area does get a bit rough around the edges later at night (Nishinari has that reputation for a reason), but during normal hours it’s just regular neighborhood life. Actually stayed here during cherry blossom season and while you won’t find any famous hanami spots within walking distance, the lack of crowds meant I could enjoy the scattered street trees without fighting for photo angles. If you’re the type who wants to experience Osaka like you actually live there for a week instead of just hitting the tourist checklist, this place delivers on that promise.

  It was a really great accommodation!
  Everything was super clean, spacious and just lovely.
  Only thing to notice is the lack of a dryer but you can still use the coin laundry next to the building.

  My friends and I stayed in the accommodation for 4 nights and since we were a big group (8 guests), we thought it would be too crammed but it wasn't the case at all. It was the perfect size for our group. The rooms were really clean and the facilities mentioned on the page were all there and fully functioning. Everyone was in awe of how nice the place was and at a lower price range at that.
  
  What could be improved: We had a bit of a hard time opening the door of the second floor at times but other than this, everything was great!

  The place is very big and have what you need for your long stay. The price is very affordable. The location is perfect, you can access to many different attractions. Not to mentioned the toiletries and other products given are of good qualities (I am still searching for the shampoo brand they used. Amazing for my hair)
  
  What could be improved: Well, probably the fact that the owner does not speak English, and it’s quite inconvenient to communicate when there’s problem. We booked through booking.com and didn’t get the right code. We ended up stayed outside for almost an hour 😂. But we fell in love with how kind Japanese are. We are asked for help from the people passed by, and they stayed and communicated with the owner and help dealt with the issue. In the end, it ended up great.

  Great value accommodation in a good location near Abeno Harukas. Traditionally decorated with all the mod-cons. Very spacious, with a bonus balcony Within walking distance of a local supermarket, local eateries and public bath houses.

  Everything; location was perfect, house was very clean and had all the necessities, roof terrace, TV and fast wifi. Staff responded super quick when we had questions. Would 100% stay again.
  
  What could be improved: Just the futon mattresses were a little thin, but we doubled them and then it was comfy.

  The property was located close to train stations and department stores.
  
  What could be improved: The property was very close to a red light district with brothels just metres down the road which we weren't aware of. I would not recommend going for a walk to explore the deeper parts of the neighbour with kids which is what we did unintendedly on our first night. The beds weren't very comfy as well espe for anyone used to sleeping on softer beds as the only beds they have is futon style bedding. The dryer to dry our clothes didn't work very well also which was a shame. Aside from that, the property was a bit narrow for our liking, but was still good overall.

  入住時一樓的IH爐有問題,反映之後隔天晚上回來旅館方立刻補了一個插座式的IH爐,有反映說這樣一樓跟二三樓只有一個店熱水壺不方便,也立刻補了一個,整體來說效率很好,回覆也很確實,乾淨整齊,雖然位子在紅燈區,但很安靜,我也沒有覺得不安全,走路五分鐘就有玉出超市,打車也滿多車會經過的.二樓的臥室如果能把紗窗裝回來更好,很喜歡自然風…但怕有蚊子….三樓臥室則是有紗窗但少了窗簾或百葉,所以每天早上會被陽光刺醒,可以再改善
  
  What could be improved: 就是日式床鋪墊子有點薄,之前在九州也有睡過日式墊,但厚度跟高度比較好一些,不然側睡真的會嗑的骨頭疼,即使我已經是很愛睡硬床的人並且身形有很有肉,仍顯得死硬. 如果仍改善就更好了!~下次來大阪我還來住
