You know what caught me off guard about EG51 Elizabeth Garden? The name had me expecting some fancy garden hotel, but it’s actually this solid little place right in the heart of Nipponbashi – and honestly, that location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without paying Namba prices.

I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Nipponbashi Station, which sounds boring until you realize you can hop on the Sakaisuji or Sennichimae lines and be anywhere in Osaka in like fifteen minutes. But here’s the thing most people don’t know – Nipponbashi is basically Osaka’s electronics district, so you’ve got all these quirky little shops selling everything from vintage cameras to bizarre gadgets, plus some surprisingly good hole-in-the-wall restaurants that the salarymen hit up for lunch. The hotel sits right on this quiet side street (1-25-4 if you’re looking on Google Maps), so you get that convenient access without the street noise that’ll keep you up at night.

The rooms are… well, they’re Japanese business hotel rooms, so don’t expect sprawling suites, but they’re clean and functional in that efficient way Japan does so well. What I actually liked was how they managed to squeeze in decent-sized beds without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a closet – though honestly, the bathrooms are pretty compact even by Japanese standards. The staff speaks enough English to handle check-in smoothly, and they’ve got this little front desk setup that feels more personal than those massive hotel lobbies where you feel like cattle. I stayed during Golden Week (probably not my smartest move timing-wise), and while the area got busy during the day, the hotel itself stayed pretty quiet. The 7.9 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what you need without any unpleasant surprises. Air conditioning works great, WiFi is solid, and the linens actually smell fresh, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. If you’re the type who wants to explore different neighborhoods each day rather than being stuck in the tourist bubble, this spot gives you that flexibility. Plus, you can walk to Kuromon Ichiba Market in about eight minutes for some of the best street food in the city – the tuna sashimi stalls there are absolutely worth getting up early for.

  Elizabeth Garden is a huge unit with four bedrooms. We were a young family of four, so each of our children had a room to themselves. A cot was provided which was essential for us. The host was gracious and allowed for a super early check in as we left an unsatisfactory accomodation elsewhere in Osaka. This apartment is steps away from the buzzing Dotonbori area in Osaka. There multiple high caliber food places literally downstairs and across the road. There is a popular food market maybe 400m away. We had an amazing at Elizabeth Garden and in Osaka. The Nipponbashi station is very central and getting anywhere around Osaka is pretty quick.

  Firstly, the location was excellent. A short walk to Kuromon Market and Dotonbori. We were close to a train station which made exploring easy. Loved the two tatami rooms and also had two western style rooms for those in our family who preferred a regular bed. Loved the futon on the floor! So comfy. Kitchen was fine but why cook when there were conbinis everywhere and awesome restaurants. In the lobby coffee, creamer and sugar was provided. Emptying rubbish was easy. Washing machine but no dryer but no problem as there was a laundry a minute away and for 400 Yen the clothes were dried in no time.

  なんば周辺で立地も良くマンションタイプのホテルで家族で連泊し、みんなで集まれるリビングと、就寝できる各部屋があり、とても過ごしやすかったです。台所のゴミ箱に前に泊まっていた方のゴミが残されていたのが残念でしたが、その他は清潔感がありました。

  家族がみんなで泊まれて施設も綺麗でした。
  リビングと和室はつながっていますが、その他の部屋は廊下を通って行くので、3家族がそれぞれプライベートな空間が持ててよかったです。

  駅が近く、色んなところへのアクセスがしやすい。
  部屋がたくさんあるので大人数で泊まるのに良い。
  キッチングッズなども置いてあるので連泊とかもしやすい。

  シャワーの温度調整が難しい。
  シャワーヘッドが透明で中が見えるようになっていたが、苔？カビ？のようなものがびっしり着いていて不潔に見えた。
  お風呂に置いてあるコンディショナーがシャンプー並に泡立つ。中身が間違ってるのではないか。
