DEL style Osaka Shin Umeda by Daiwa Roynet Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into DEL style Osaka Shin Umeda by Daiwa Roynet Hotel, you immediately notice how the lobby strikes that perfect balance between modern and welcoming. The staff greets you in both Japanese and English — honestly, their English is pretty solid, which isn’t always a given in Osaka. What caught my attention right away was how spotless everything looked, and I mean everything. The check-in process was surprisingly quick, even during what seemed like a busy evening rush.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Fukushima-ku — it’s one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often overlook. You’re actually just a few minutes’ walk from Umeda Station, which is huge because that connects you to pretty much everywhere you’d want to go. The four-star property sits in this sweet spot where you can easily reach the main tourist areas, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying right in the thick of things. I noticed quite a few couples during my stay, and honestly, I get why they’d rate the location so highly — there are some really nice riverside walks nearby that most guidebooks don’t mention.
The Room Experience
The room itself follows that Japanese efficiency philosophy — everything has its place, and somehow they’ve managed to fit more functionality into the space than you’d expect. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just “hotel comfortable”), and the bathroom had one of those high-tech toilets that’ll either confuse or delight you, depending on your tech comfort level. What I really appreciated was the blackout curtains — they actually work, which means you can sleep in despite Osaka’s neon-bright nights. The air conditioning responds quickly too, something you’ll definitely want during the humid summer months.
Breakfast & Dining
The buffet breakfast deserves a mention because it’s not your typical hotel spread. Sure, there’s the standard continental options, but they also have proper Japanese breakfast items — miso soup, grilled fish, rice, the works. I mean, if you’re in Japan, why not start your day the local way? The coffee was decent (not amazing, but decent), and they had this selection of local pastries that I didn’t see at other hotels. The dining area gets pretty busy around 8 AM, so if you’re not a morning person, maybe aim for 9:30 or later.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it feels like a proper local experience without sacrificing comfort. You’re staying in a real Osaka neighborhood where people actually live and work, not just a tourist bubble. The combination of that authentic location with reliable four-star amenities — good wifi, helpful staff, clean facilities — makes it work for both business travelers and tourists. Plus, with couples consistently rating it highly, there’s clearly something about the atmosphere that creates a good vibe. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top; it’s just solid, reliable, and genuinely well-located for exploring the city.
Osaka’s attractions showcase the perfect blend of traditional Japanese culture and modern urban energy, with many featuring panoramic city views and authentic culinary experiences overlooking the vibrant Kansai region.

Is not super central but you can easily walk to either the main trainstation in Osaka or to a smaller one for quick access to the metro. You have a lot of nice non-touristic restaurant in walking distance.
What could be improved: the breakfast ist quite basic but in alternative you have a nice coffee place just across the street and 7-eleven next door.Christina from Australia – 12 June 2025 (9/10)
Great amenities, lovely staff.
What could be improved: Just the construction next to it.Daniel from United States – 30 May 2025 (9/10)
When I needed to attend a meeting in Tokyo, they gave me a full refund, even though they didn't have to.
What could be improved: Everything was excellent.Saad from Saudi Arabia – 29 May 2025 (9/10)
My stay at the hotel was truly wonderful. The hotel is beautifully designed and exceptionally clean. It offers several convenient amenities such as vending machines for drinks, laundry machines with drying functions, and a well-known 7-Eleven store on the ground floor — perfect for quick daily needs at any time.
The hotel staff were very professional and courteous, and the presence of a night security guard added an extra layer of safety and peace of mind.
I highly recommend this hotel for those seeking a quiet, clean, and well-equipped place to stay in Osaka.
What could be improved: One minor downside is that the hotel is a bit far from major train stations and shopping centers, but it doesn’t significantly affect the overall experience.April from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (9/10)
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Great value for money, location and spacious room
What could be improved: If you want to leave your bags the next day, I’d recommend checking out early as this service fills up quickly. We luckily got the last remaining spotsAlbay from Turkey – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
Extremely polite staff. Fast check-in. Perfect location. Comfortable rooms.
What could be improved: The staff at the reception do not speak English well. I would like to have a spa in the hotel.Evaggelia from Denmark – 26 May 2025 (9/10)
Big room, very comfortable with nice facilities. Friendly staff and nice pyjamas. Close to convenience store.
What could be improved: All was good. Maybe a bit more walk to the station. Around 15 minutes, which is still close.Minesh from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (8/10)
Small room, but clean and well-maintained. I like; the amenities you can take from the desk in reception, e.g. bath bomb, coffees, razors
What could be improved: Breakfast wasn’t great – more choice would be welcomeSarah from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (8/10)
Great room, huge bed and plenty of room. Easy to get to and from the train station.
What could be improved: Buffet breakfast was an odd mix of western and Japanese food.
