DEL style Osaka Shin Umeda by Daiwa Roynet Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking into the lobby, I actually thought I’d stumbled into some boutique hotel in Tokyo’s trendy districts rather than a Daiwa Roynet property. The DEL style branding really means something here – there’s this clean, almost Scandinavian-meets-Japanese aesthetic that feels genuinely fresh, not like someone just slapped “design hotel” on a standard business property.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Osaka like a local rather than bouncing between tourist traps. Fukushima district doesn’t get much love in guidebooks, but I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from JR Fukushima Station, which puts you one stop from Osaka Station – closer than most people staying in “central” hotels, actually. What I love is how you can wander out in the evening and find yourself among all these tiny izakayas and local spots where you might be the only tourist. There’s this incredible yakitori place about two blocks away (just follow the salary workers after 7 PM) that I never would’ve discovered staying in the main hotel districts. The morning walks to grab coffee are pretty great too – the neighborhood has this authentic residential feel that reminds you you’re not just visiting a theme park version of Japan.
Inside, the rooms are… well, they’re still Japanese hotel-sized, so don’t expect sprawling American standards, but everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than cramped. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and honestly, the rainfall shower was a pleasant surprise – good pressure, gets properly hot. What impressed me most was how quiet everything stays, even though you’re in the middle of a functioning neighborhood rather than some isolated hotel zone. I barely heard any street noise, and the hallways don’t echo with slamming doors like some places. Check-in was smooth, staff English was solid without being overly rehearsed, and they actually knew useful stuff about the area when I asked – not just the standard “Osaka Castle is that way” responses. The little touches matter too: decent wifi throughout, proper blackout curtains, and outlets positioned where you’d actually want to charge your phone. Only minor gripe? The elevator gets a bit slow during morning rush, but we’re talking an extra minute or two, not a major inconvenience.
Osaka’s attractions showcase the perfect blend of traditional Japanese culture and modern urban energy, with many featuring panoramic city views and authentic culinary experiences overlooking the vibrant Kansai region.

Is not super central but you can easily walk to either the main trainstation in Osaka or to a smaller one for quick access to the metro. You have a lot of nice non-touristic restaurant in walking distance.
What could be improved: the breakfast ist quite basic but in alternative you have a nice coffee place just across the street and 7-eleven next door.Christina from Australia – 12 June 2025 (9/10)
Great amenities, lovely staff.
What could be improved: Just the construction next to it.Daniel from United States – 30 May 2025 (9/10)
When I needed to attend a meeting in Tokyo, they gave me a full refund, even though they didn't have to.
What could be improved: Everything was excellent.Saad from Saudi Arabia – 29 May 2025 (9/10)
My stay at the hotel was truly wonderful. The hotel is beautifully designed and exceptionally clean. It offers several convenient amenities such as vending machines for drinks, laundry machines with drying functions, and a well-known 7-Eleven store on the ground floor — perfect for quick daily needs at any time.
The hotel staff were very professional and courteous, and the presence of a night security guard added an extra layer of safety and peace of mind.
I highly recommend this hotel for those seeking a quiet, clean, and well-equipped place to stay in Osaka.
What could be improved: One minor downside is that the hotel is a bit far from major train stations and shopping centers, but it doesn’t significantly affect the overall experience.April from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (9/10)
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Great value for money, location and spacious room
What could be improved: If you want to leave your bags the next day, I’d recommend checking out early as this service fills up quickly. We luckily got the last remaining spotsAlbay from Turkey – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
Extremely polite staff. Fast check-in. Perfect location. Comfortable rooms.
What could be improved: The staff at the reception do not speak English well. I would like to have a spa in the hotel.Evaggelia from Denmark – 26 May 2025 (9/10)
Big room, very comfortable with nice facilities. Friendly staff and nice pyjamas. Close to convenience store.
What could be improved: All was good. Maybe a bit more walk to the station. Around 15 minutes, which is still close.Minesh from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (8/10)
Small room, but clean and well-maintained. I like; the amenities you can take from the desk in reception, e.g. bath bomb, coffees, razors
What could be improved: Breakfast wasn’t great – more choice would be welcomeSarah from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (8/10)
Great room, huge bed and plenty of room. Easy to get to and from the train station.
What could be improved: Buffet breakfast was an odd mix of western and Japanese food.
