Daiwa Roynet Hotel Osaka Sakaisuji Honmachi PREMIER Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of business hotels in Osaka, and honestly? The Daiwa Roynet Sakaisuji Honmachi PREMIER actually surprised me. When I first walked in, I was expecting another generic corporate box – you know how these chain hotels can be – but there’s something different about this one. Maybe it’s because they slapped “PREMIER” on the name and actually mean it, or maybe I just got lucky with my timing, but the lobby feels… well, it feels like they tried. The staff spoke decent English without that slightly panicked look you sometimes get, and check-in was smooth even though I showed up way earlier than I should have.

The location is what really sold me though. You’re right in Honmachi, which sounds boring if you don’t know Osaka, but it’s actually perfect. I mean, you’re a two-minute walk from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station – and I actually timed it because I’m weird like that – so you can get anywhere without dealing with the chaos of, say, Namba or Umeda. There’s a Lawson literally across the street (crucial for late-night snacks), and you’re close enough to Dotonbori that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes if you’re feeling ambitious, but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk salarymen singing karaoke at 2 AM. The neighborhood has this quiet business district vibe during the day, then sort of empties out at night, which I found oddly peaceful.

What really got me were the small touches – the rooms are compact but smartly designed, with outlets in all the right places and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re showering in a phone booth. The beds are firm in that Japanese way that somehow works better than it should. I stayed on the eighth floor and could see little glimpses of Osaka Castle in the distance between buildings, which wasn’t spectacular but felt like a bonus. The air conditioning was whisper-quiet too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind – it’s still fundamentally a business hotel – but it’s a really well-executed one. If you want to be in central Osaka without paying Ritz-Carlton prices or dealing with hostel drama, this place hits that sweet spot. Just don’t expect a concierge who can get you into that impossible-to-book restaurant – this isn’t that kind of hotel, but honestly, that’s probably not what you need anyway.

Location, facilities, standards , soundproofing ,design, lighting etc

What could be improved: Just the fact that no windows could be opened even an inch. We appreciate and understand the safety precautions but the feeling of “cage” like is disturbing!

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Osaka Sakaisuji Honmachi PREMIER is one of our all-time favourite hotels in Osaka! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home, thanks to the amazing staff and the welcoming atmosphere. The location is perfect making it super easy to explore the city.
The hotel amenities are top-notch. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed. Little touches like pyjamas, slippers, and complimentary mineral water made our stay even more comfortable. If you ever ran out of essentials (coffee, tea, mouthwash, hair oil, etc.), they offered a convenient top-up station near the reception—what a thoughtful touch!
One of the standout features of this hotel is the laundry facilities. Unlike other hotels where you’d have to wait hours for a machine, Daiwa Roynet offers two laundry floors, and we never had to wait long. It made our trip even more convenient!
Lastly, I have to mention the exceptional hairdryers and iron for hair. It’s not every day that you come across a hotel with such thoughtful amenities, and trust me, you’ll love the high-quality hair tools—they truly make a difference!
Overall, this hotel exceeded all expectations, and we’ll be returning on our next trip to Osaka!
