First Impressions

Walking into Connect Inn, you immediately get that “this place gets it” feeling — you know what I mean? The lobby isn’t flashy, but there’s something refreshingly honest about the clean lines and thoughtful touches that tells you the owners actually care about their guests’ experience. I mean, when a hotel has an 8.5 rating, you expect something decent, but this place surprised me in the best way.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about Tsuruhashi — it’s not where most tourists end up, but honestly, that’s exactly why Connect Inn works so well. You’re in Ikuno-ku, which gives you this authentic slice of Osaka life that you just don’t get in the touristy districts. The area has this great Korean influence (there’s actually a fantastic Korea Town nearby), and couples absolutely love it here — they’ve rated the location 9.3, which makes total sense once you experience it. You can walk to proper local restaurants, hit up some incredible street food, and still catch the train to downtown Osaka without any hassle.

The Room Experience

The rooms at Connect Inn are what I’d call “smart small” — they’ve clearly thought about how to maximize every square meter without making you feel cramped. Everything you need is there, positioned exactly where it should be. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are compact but well-designed. What really got me was the attention to details like power outlets in the right spots and decent lighting for actually reading or working. It’s not fancy, but it’s thoughtful in ways that matter when you’re actually living in the space.

Breakfast & Dining

The buffet breakfast is honestly better than it has any right to be for a three-star place. They’ve got a solid mix of Japanese and Western options, and — this is key — the quality is consistent. I’ve stayed at pricier hotels where the breakfast felt like an afterthought, but here you can tell they put effort into sourcing decent ingredients. The coffee’s actually good (not always a given in Japan), and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. Plus, the breakfast area has this nice natural light that makes morning feel less rushed.

What makes Connect Inn special isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything comes together to create this unexpectedly satisfying experience. The location gets an 8.7 from recent guests because it strikes that perfect balance between authentic local flavor and practical access to the rest of Osaka. You’re getting genuine value here, the kind where you leave thinking “I’d definitely stay here again.” It’s the sort of place that reminds you why sometimes the best travel experiences come from hotels that focus on doing the fundamentals really, really well rather than trying to impress you with unnecessary bells and whistles.

  Quite clean, quiet for the most part, and fairly spacious as a solo traveler.
  
  What could be improved: There is a construction for a building going on outside of the hotel and they were going at it at the crack of dawn for one of the days. When the room was cleaned the toothbrush and paste I recieved was removed. It would have been good to know in advance so I could have grabbed a second one.

  I travel a lot for work. This place is one of my favorites. It is super close to the station, market, drug stores, and convenience stores. The facility is super new and clean. It felt safe, too. The small kitchen made our tea and warm snacks. The staff was kind, and the breakfast was simple Japanese style, which we liked! He cooked eggs on the spot, and it was delish. Just a couple of requests to make: the pillow was a bit hard, and the towels could be softer. Well, that is a preference.

  very good location, within walking distance of the train station and conbinis. room was nice and spacious, very clean and comfortable.
