Comfort Hotel Shin-Osaka Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Comfort Hotel Shin-Osaka, you immediately get that “this place knows what it’s doing” vibe. It’s not trying to be fancy — this is a solid three-star hotel that actually delivers on its promises. The lobby feels fresh and modern without being sterile, and honestly, the staff seemed genuinely happy to see guests arrive, which isn’t always a given at business hotels. The overall atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between professional and welcoming.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying in Osaka — location is everything, and this hotel nailed it. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Shin-Osaka Station, which means you can hop on the shinkansen to Tokyo or Kyoto without dragging your luggage across the city. The Nishinakajima area might not be as flashy as Dotonbori, but it’s where locals actually live and work. There are convenience stores everywhere (trust me, you’ll appreciate this), plus some really good izakayas tucked away in the side streets that tourists rarely find. The neighborhood truly captures authentic Osaka.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — every inch serves a purpose. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I mean that sincerely because Japanese business hotels can be hit or miss on mattresses. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details: good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and a bathroom that didn’t feel like you’re showering in a phone booth. The soundproofing is decent too, which matters when you’re this close to a major train station. These practical touches make all the difference during your stay.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast buffet here is where the hotel really shows its personality. It’s a mix of Asian dishes and some Western options, but they clearly put effort into the Japanese selections. The miso soup was actually good (not that watery stuff you sometimes get), and they had proper rice with various toppings. I found myself looking forward to breakfast each morning, which honestly surprised me. There’s also a restaurant on-site, though I ended up exploring the neighborhood most evenings — there’s just too much good food within walking distance to stay in. The culinary scene nearby is truly exceptional.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it understands its audience. Business travelers get reliable wifi and a quiet place to work. Tourists get easy access to the rest of Kansai without paying Umeda prices. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the location — and I can see why, since you can easily reach both the urban excitement of central Osaka and day trips to Nara or Kyoto. The parking situation is manageable if you’re driving, though honestly, you probably won’t need a car from here. It’s that sweet spot where everything just works without any fuss, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re traveling.
Best attractions in Osaka range from the majestic Osaka Castle to the bustling Dotonbori district and elegant temples overlooking the historic Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine and Shinsaibashi shopping area.

Really convenient for Shin Osaka station so great for trips to Nara, Kyoto etc. Friendly staff. We found lots of restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet was great. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Clean and comfortable.

Beds were actually comfortable, pillows were awful though. The breakfast was good, laundry facilities on site although they didn't dry properly so required extra drying time. Hotel is Like 5 minutes from shin-osaka train station however there was nothing to do in the area as a visitor and just 2 or so streets down seemed to be an active red district area at night so not appropriate for kids. Have I known this I would have stayed at a different area, more family friendly. Staff thought was amazing super friendly, accommodating, treat everyone like VIP's, just great service.
What could be improved: The area, nothing to do and more for adults at night.Karen from Philippines – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
Its near different train lines. Complimentary breakfast was also good. Rooms are good and comfortable. It is also spacious, we were able to open all our 3 luggages inside the room.
What could be improved: A bit lacking in the complimentary amenities like cotton padsDaviann from United States – 9 June 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Not near anythingYuki from United States – 7 June 2025 (8/10)
We had to book an extra day because our trip itinerary changed. We had to check out from the other room we were staying in but we were able to have our bags at the hotel (they have lockers for your luggage for big/small items) for your before/after check in/out. Great location, comfy rooms for your basic needs while visiting Osaka.
What could be improved: nothing negative to say.Yuki from United States – 7 June 2025 (9/10)
5-10min walk from Shin Osaka station (at first it was a bit confusing to figure out how to get there) but thank goodness to Google maps for telling you which exit to get out because the ramps/multiple exits make it hard to navigate at first. Friendly staff, clean room – spacious for 'business hotel' and their free breakfast was good enough to satisfy your needs (we did not use it on all the days because we wanted to try this bakery )
Rooms were quiet (but it is next to the train tracks so you can hear it before 12am and after 6am) but we were high up so didn't bother us much. They provided fresh towels daily –
Washer/dryers were on the 2nd floor and there were 3? or so and worked great.
Also the location was convenient from Shin Osaka and Nishinakajima Minamikata station. (both 5-10min walk)
What could be improved: Wifi was a bit weak. But other than that, good 'business hotel' for your trip to Osaka.Malabika from India – 7 June 2025 (9/10)
Hospitality of the staff and cleanliness of the property.
What could be improved: Nothing much, just wish there was more variety for breakfast.Chanatip from United States – 2 June 2025 (9/10)
New and big property with large two bed rooms.

Staff was very friendly and the rooms are clean and big enough for me. Room has a window. Wifi was fine, breakfast was good. Always a good coffee in the coffee room.
You will love the curtains!
What could be improved: It was difficult to figure out how to open the window! Finally it gets to solve a puzzle which I am also proud.
