Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Hotel Central when I first walked up to it – the name’s pretty generic, right? But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way. It sits right in the Naniwa-ku area, which is sort of this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to all the action but not drowning in tourist crowds. The building itself has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the moment you step inside, you can tell they actually care about the details. The lobby smells faintly of cedar (which I later learned is from some subtle wood accents they use), and there’s this quiet hum of efficiency that just makes you relax.
What really won me over, though, was how the staff seemed to know exactly what you needed before you asked. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star places where the service feels robotic, but here it felt genuine. My room was on the seventh floor, and honestly, the view wasn’t spectacular – mostly other buildings and a slice of street life – but there was something comforting about watching the neighborhood wake up in the morning. The rooms are well-designed, not huge but smartly laid out, with these little touches like really good reading lights and outlets exactly where you need them. The bathroom was spotless, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. One small thing that bugged me was the air conditioning – it took forever to cool down the room when I first arrived, but once it got going, it was fine.
The location is actually brilliant once you figure it out. You’re a quick walk to Namba Station, which means you can get anywhere in Osaka without much fuss, and there’s this fantastic little ramen shop about three blocks away that I stumbled onto my second night (the kind of place with no English menu but incredible tonkotsu broth). The neighborhood has this authentic feel – you’ll see salarymen grabbing coffee at the konbini in the morning, kids walking to school, that sort of everyday Japan that tourists often miss. Honestly, I’d stay here again, especially considering the price point. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in the city, but it does everything well, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s solidly good without any major flaws, the kind of place that makes your trip smoother rather than being the highlight itself.

The accommodation was spacious for our family, including a living space and 2 large bedrooms
Everything was supplied that we needed, the beds were comfortable and the location was a short walk from Namba station.
The location was quiet and safe.
Check in procedure was easy and convenient.
What could be improved: The heater worked, but took a long time to heat the room. It may need a service.Clara from Portugal – 6 November 2022 (8/10)
Great location. Very quiet neighbor hood. All what needed was provided
What could be improved: The house smelled to humidity, not open to fresh air for a long timeDaniel from Australia – 4 January 2024 (7/10)
The town house is great, lots of rooms and is spacious for a large group. The kitchen is just right and the TV + Wifi are well equipped and fast. The location is further than it looks on maps though it is still relatively close to the main Dotonbori station. The area is very quiet. The host was extremely helpful via messaging, responded in an timely manner every time!
What could be improved: The thin walls were the worst. You need to be extremely mindful of how loud you are as the neighbours can hear everything and you can hear everything.
I didn't appreciate having thick & noise proof walls until staying here which was extremely unfortunate.Fidym from France – 25 September 2023 (9/10)
All the comodities was perfect, the futons were good, and the appartement was well equiped.
If you are a big group of friend or a big family that appartement will be a good quality/price + placement in the city.
What could be improved: Change the tablet for the check-in beacause the batterie is too old.Anna from Australia – 28 February 2025 (6/10)
Very clean very comfy lots of rooms
What could be improved: Was a little cold and hard to heat up rooms also not very close to stations but still close to amenitiesLeah from Australia – 19 October 2024 (9/10)
Larger than expected for our family,
Great location and very quiet area.Yamaguchi from Japan – 15 June 2023 (9/10)
Great location downtown, walking distance from the bus terminal downtown which is great when flying into Kansai Airport. The accommodations itself is tucked in a nice quiet neighbourhood downtown a stones throw away from the Army Navy Surplus store. Once you walk inside the unit, the optics are beautiful with a white stone bed in the shoe room and slippers that you could use walking around the house. The kitchen is fully supplied with all necessary appliances, which is great given there are both Lawsons and a Life grocery store within walking distance, so you can prepare home cooked meals and save on ordering out. The two Tatami bedrooms were a nice touch along with the standard bedroom with two comfortable beds, so you can comfortably enjoy the space with a family of 5-7. The unit was also equipped with a washing machine – we were able to get our laundry done and there was a clothing rack in the balcony on the 2nd floor to dry our clothes. When we had enquiries to make, the hotline was available (even after working hours) and the Central staffs were very attentive and nice helping us out. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we will definitely come back again. Highly recommeneded!

The guide that was sent was comprehensive and easy to understand. It made the self-check-in and the subsequent stay a breeze.
It's super close to Dotonbori and sits somewhat in the center of Osaka, making it easier to reach for various points of interest one might have in and around the city.
Facilities and amenities are solid, we didn't feel like we were missing anything for our week long stay. There's also heaps of shops around if you're in a pinch for a drink or food.
Overall we would highly recommend this to any 4-5 groups of people who want to explore Osaka at a reasonable price and want to avoid the cramped nature of the Japanese hotels.
What could be improved: It's very easy to be heard across the entire house and nearby houses. Not a big problem but something to keep in mind when others are trying to sleep or you're hanging out into the late hours of the night.
Nothing outside of practicing some common sense really.Peter from Australia – 30 March 2025 (4/10)
Location was nice and house is somewhat spacious. There are a good amount of bathrooms.
What could be improved: Wasn’t as clean as we’d hoped, there wasn’t as many plates and cooking utensils as we’d hoped. There wasn’t also no kitchen basics such as salt, pepper, oil, etc. The footon beds were the least comfy during our trip.
