Hotel Description

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Candeo Hotels Osaka The Tower, I wasn’t expecting much beyond another sleek business hotel. But this place actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. It’s tucked right there in Dojimahama, which honestly is one of those spots where you’re close to everything without being in the thick of the tourist chaos. You know how some hotels claim they’re “centrally located” but you end up walking forever to get anywhere decent? Well, this isn’t one of those situations. You’re literally a few minutes from Yodoyama Station, and if you’re feeling ambitious, the riverside walk to Osaka Castle is actually pretty lovely – especially in the morning before the city fully wakes up.

What really got me was the attention to detail throughout the place. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” but still makes you feel like you’ve stepped up a notch. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful (and patient with my terrible Japanese), which you’d expect from a 5-star place, but there’s something to be said for when it feels authentic rather than rehearsed. The rooms – and I stayed in one of the standard ones, nothing fancy – have these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a proper view of the city. At night, you can see the lights stretching out toward Umeda, and during the day there’s something oddly calming about watching the Dojima River flow by below. The beds are firm in that Japanese way that somehow works better than you think it will, and the bathroom setup is smart – they’ve got one of those deep soaking tubs that actually fits a normal-sized person.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the building stays surprisingly quiet despite being right in the business district. I was worried about street noise, but the soundproofing is solid. Even during rush hour, you’re not dealing with constant traffic sounds filtering up. The rooftop onsen is where this place really shines – I mean, soaking in hot spring water while looking out over Osaka’s skyline? That’s not something you get at your average hotel. It gets busy around 7-8 PM when the business crowd finishes up their day, but if you time it right (early morning or late evening), you might have it mostly to yourself. The breakfast situation is decent – not groundbreaking, but they do a solid mix of Japanese and Western options, and the coffee is actually good, which honestly can be hit or miss in hotel restaurants. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It’s got that sweet spot of being upscale without being pretentious, and the location really can’t be beat if you want to explore both the business side and cultural side of Osaka without constantly hopping on trains.

  • Sky1 from United States – 19 June 2025 (9/10)

Spacious room for Japanese standards, modernly furnished. Floor to ceiling windows for great city views!
A highlight is the Japanese spa and workout room on the 31st floor! It is a perfect place to relax and soak up city views after a day of sightseeing!
The lobby is on the 17th floor and all guestrooms are above.
The breakfast buffet offers both Japanese and international items and is worth booking with your stay (cost more when paid on site).
Bonus: washer and dryer available on 31st floor!

What could be improved: The entrance is a bit hidden given that the lobby is on the 18th floor, but it's not a big minus.

  • Jeannette from Canada – 18 June 2025 (9/10)

  • Chuong from United States – 18 June 2025 (9/10)

Loved the open air bath amenity. The room was spacious and everything seemed like great quality.

What could be improved: The entrance and exit takes two elevator rides.

  • Anthony from Canada – 18 June 2025 (8/10)

    Onsen made the difference

What could be improved: Lounge hours, opens way too late at 4 pm, obviously its so no one takes advantage but its a tourist city, no one is around at 4 pm

  • Kehan from China – 17 June 2025 (9/10)

The room is spacious with good views of Osaka City, it’s also convenient, close to the Osaka station and with convenient stores around, also tasty local food on foot walk just few minutes near the hotel🤩😋

  • Albayrak from Belgium – 17 June 2025 (9/10)

    – The feeling of luxury and style of the building.
    – Very helpfull staff
    – Amazing looking sky pool and bathing area

What could be improved: Fitness room is a little small with no heavy weights, only enough place for 2 or 3 people for the weight area.

We had a really lovely stay at this hotel in Osaka. The location was excellent—close to convenience stores, restaurants, and public transport, which made it super easy to get around.

The meals were delicious, and the room was a great size—spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and spoke English, which made check-in and questions really easy.

One of the highlights was the rooftop onsen-style pool—it was such a cool and relaxing experience after a long day of sightseeing.

Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Osaka!

  • Jeff from United States – 17 June 2025 (9/10)

Fantastic modern hotel in the heart of Osaka. All facilities were modern, the food and drink were excellent, and just wait til you experience the Spa on 31st floor including rooftop pools!!!!!!!

What could be improved: The cafe did not open until 11 am, we arrived hungry on a Sunday after a day of travel and the restaurant was booked with reservations that night and the next, and other than small self-service coffee envelopes and hot water kettle in the room there was no ability to get a simple tea or coffee….unless you paid for the ~4000Y breakfast buffet.
