You know what caught me off guard about Bijou Suites Sorriso? The name sounds way fancier than the place actually is – and I mean that in the best possible way. This is a solid 3-star spot tucked into Oyodonaka, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up, but that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re literally a 5-minute walk from Umeda Station, but you’re not dealing with all the chaos that comes with staying right in the thick of things.

The suites themselves are what you’d expect from a decent Japanese business hotel – compact but thoughtfully designed, with that clean-lines aesthetic that somehow makes even small spaces feel uncluttered. The bathrooms are particularly well done (those Japanese hotel bathrooms really spoil you), and I was surprised by how quiet the rooms stayed despite being so close to the train lines. Actually, that whole area is pretty well insulated from the Umeda madness – during the day you get the energy of being in a major business district, but evenings are surprisingly peaceful. The front desk staff speaks decent English, which isn’t always a given in this part of town, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward after dealing with some overly complicated hotel procedures elsewhere in the city.

What really sells this place for me is the location math – you’re close enough to walk to Osaka Station when you want to hop on the shinkansen or explore other parts of the city, but far enough away that you’re not paying those premium location prices. Plus, you’re right in the middle of some genuinely good local eating options that most visitors never discover. There’s this little yakitori place about two blocks south that’s been there forever, and a convenience store combo that actually stocks decent breakfast options if you’re not into the hotel’s morning setup. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be anything revolutionary, but it delivers on what matters: clean rooms, reliable service, and a spot that lets you experience Osaka without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist bubble. If you’re the type who’d rather spend money on great meals and experiences instead of fancy hotel amenities you’ll barely use, this is your place.

  The size of the space was perfect for our family of four and the location was convenient to train stations as well as taking a taxi to Itami airport for our return trip home.
  
  What could be improved: Having to climb a flight of stairs was a minor inconvenience, but not really a problem.

  I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The check-in guidance was very detailed, and I was able to easily take public transport from the airport to the accommodation without any issues. The space in the apartment was quite large, perfect for our group of four. Each of us had enough room to fully open our suitcases without feeling cramped. The place was clean and tidy, and the quality of the toiletries provided was impressive. Overall, a very comfortable and pleasant experience!

  We’ll appointed property that was a perfect size for my family of 4. We really appreciated all of the amenities that included q-tips, tooth brushes, iron/board, scale, and all of the kitchen necessities. Will come back here again.

  This was very comfortable apartment. The location is great. 10 min walk to Osaka station. Choice of restaurants nearby. Close to Family Mart for groceries. Tea and coffee supplied.
  
  What could be improved: It was a shame that there were no hand towels and Japanese pillows are very small so some spares would be nice.

  Facility is excellent size, one super single bed each for our family of 5 with another spare bed. Netflix was a great help in entertaining the kids at night. Washing machine is a great help. There is no staff at the facility but they respond fairly quickly when I messaged them.
  
  What could be improved: Facility does not have any lift. It's a killer bringing luggage up the steep flight of stairs (we are at level 3). No Daily cleaning nor change of towels. Perhaps the facility can consider giving extra towels for guests who booked longer stays (I was asked to use the washing machine to wash the towels myself if I needed a change). Washing machine doesn't come with dryer function. You will need at least a day or two for clothes to dry. Need to walk abt 15mins to nearest JR Station. Pillows too flat.

  The property was very spacious, with ample amenities, and close to convenience stores around the area, major attractions and even to the main Osaka station. The 4 bedrooms ensured that our group of 6 had enough space to go around.
  
  What could be improved: Would have been abit better if there was an elevator since there were people in the group who had leg injuries, but all good.
