Hotel Description
You know what surprised me most about Apartment Hotel 11 Umeda? How quiet it actually is, considering you’re basically in the heart of one of Osaka’s busiest districts. I mean, when I first saw the address on Tsurunocho – literally a few minutes’ walk from JR Osaka Station – I figured I’d be dealing with constant train noise and street chaos. But honestly, once you’re inside, it’s this surprisingly peaceful little bubble.
The whole setup feels more like staying in someone’s well-organized apartment than a typical hotel, which makes sense given the name. Each room has this compact kitchenette that’s actually functional (not one of those fake ones with a mini-fridge and broken microwave), and I found myself using it way more than expected. There’s something really satisfying about grabbing fresh ingredients from the basement food floors at nearby department stores and cooking a simple meal after a long day of temple-hopping. The staff seemed genuinely helpful too – not that over-polished hotel service you sometimes get, but more like neighbors who actually want to help you figure out the washing machine or recommend where to grab decent coffee in the morning.
What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits right in that sweet spot between convenience and authenticity. Sure, you can walk to Umeda Sky Building in about ten minutes, and yes, you’re connected to practically every train line in the city within a few blocks. But you’re also tucked into this quieter residential pocket where you’ll see salary workers heading to the local convenience store in their house slippers, and there’s this little ramen shop around the corner that clearly caters to locals – the kind where the menu’s only in Japanese and the master nods when he recognizes you on your third visit. The building itself has that slightly worn-in feel that three-star places sometimes have, but everything works properly and it’s genuinely clean. I appreciated small touches like having enough electrical outlets (a real issue in older Japanese hotels) and blackout curtains that actually block out the morning light. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

Close to the major station, shops, izakayas. Washing machine and other basic amenities, usb power sockets, good security, keyless doors, fast response from the management. Excellent water pressure. Great instructions on check-in and out, local guide, amenities manuals.
What could be improved: No wardrobe/ closet, only a few hangers hanging on the wall hooks. Management offered to provide more hangers but we had nowhere to hang them. Only 1 small pillow per person (we got 1 extra to share between the 4 of us upon enquiring, as no more available). Beds pretty hard, which combined with insufficient pillows and VERY close proximity to the very busy Umeda train tracks (and I mean 10 meters at best), made for quite average sleep (even with the provided earplugs). Very limited kitchenware and no tea towels to dry dishes.Myk from Australia – 10 June 2025 (9/10)
Easy check in, just scan the passport. Convenient location near Umeda station, entire apartment including kitchen. Extra towels and toothbrushes are at the 10th floor.
What could be improved: They should better explain how to open the lobby door. First press the Kanji button then quickly enter the code. I was doing it the opposite wayLinda from United States – 7 June 2025 (9/10)
I liked that this property was close to the train station. It was also close to several attractions. There’s a lot to explore in the neighborhood.
What could be improved: This is completely self check-in so there is no way to contact anyone in person if you need assistance. Make sure you check your email for check-in instructions.Yuka from United Kingdom – 16 May 2025 (8/10)
We had everything what we need with our baby
What could be improved: Bathroom has very bad drain smellStephen from Australia – 12 May 2025 (9/10)

Centrally located
What could be improved: Value for money.Maria from Japan – 8 April 2025 (8/10)
The location is good once you figure it out. The easiest access from Shinkansen or JR gates is by going toward Hankyu Line Central Gate. It is a very nice apartment with well-maintained facilities and feels very secured. There are many restaurants and malls nearby.
What could be improved: There is no luggage storage before or after check-in. The procedures for entering the codes are quite tricky and may not work the first time.Li from Singapore – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
overall is very comfortable
Host is nice to extend extra hour for check out
Host response is very fast and attentive
What could be improved: Dining table is too small for triple sharing room
and no holding area for lugguageTan from Singapore – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Location was good.
Prompt replies from the hosts.
Everything was clean and neat.
Good space for 3 paxs & you can do your laundry in house.
Will stay again if I’m in Osaka.
What could be improved: Nothing much to be honest.Hershcel from Canada – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Washer on site
bidet
Coin Dryer would be nice but the exhaust dryer is helpful for small quantity of clothes. Wasnt able to use the veranda/terrace/patio to hang dry clothes bec weather is still quite cold. no warm breeze.
toiletries provided
stove nice
plates spoons forks
What could be improved: 1. English translation would be nice for instructions in all appliances.
2. It would be nice if there is an outside Vendo machines for food or necessities.
3. If you can update the actual photos of the rooms. Expectations at the website photos versus actual photos are different ; No headboards+ no sofa as shown in website;
4. We arrived way early as checkin time and I asked if we can do early checkin- host said No it must be by 3pm. Hard for us with kids spending waking around subway and store luggage with additional charge:: but they email alert us with the room key code meaning we can now checkin but thats like 2pm;
