Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to Apartment Hotel 11 Shinsaibashi Amemura, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the entrance is pretty understated, tucked right into the Nishishinsaibashi streetscape where you’re basically surrounded by tiny bars, vintage clothing shops, and that constant hum of Osaka nightlife. But you know what? That’s actually perfect if you want to be in the thick of Amemura (Amerika-mura to the uninitiated), which is hands-down one of the most interesting neighborhoods to explore on foot.
The apartment-style setup really works here. I mean, having a proper kitchenette isn’t just nice to have – it’s genuinely useful when you’re staying in this area because you can grab fresh ingredients from the Hanshin or Daimaru food floors (both walkable) and actually cook something decent instead of living off convenience store onigiri. The rooms feel more spacious than typical Japanese business hotels, though I’ll be honest, the soundproofing could be better. You’re going to hear some street noise, especially on weekends when the Amemura crowd gets going – but honestly, that’s part of the charm of staying right in the action rather than some sterile hotel district. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re trying to navigate or translate menus, and check-in was surprisingly smooth for a smaller property.
What really sold me on this place is the location intelligence – you’re literally a three-minute walk from Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street, but you’re also perfectly positioned to duck into the quieter side streets where locals actually hang out. Triangle Park is right there (you’ll know it when you see the street performers), and you can easily walk to Dotonbori when you want the full tourist experience, then retreat back to the slightly more chill Amemura vibe. The 8.2 rating makes sense because it’s not trying to be fancy – it’s just solid, clean, and smart about what travelers actually need. Plus, the Shinsaibashi subway connections mean you can get to Osaka Castle, Sumiyoshi Taisha, or even day-trip to Nara without any hassle. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a hotel bubble, this spot delivers.

Great location. Close to train station. Lots of places for food and shopping. Beds were comfortable.
What could be improved: Would be good to have clothes rack or dryer. The only room left when we booked didn’t have a sofa. There were four of us in the room and the bench could only sit two. So we had to take turn sitting on the bench or sit on the floor or bed. Perhaps could have a longer bench.Margaretha from Portugal – 8 April 2025 (8/10)
Fantastic location and near the stations. It was very quiet at night but in 5 minutes you can be at the hustle and bustle of Dotonbori. There is no reception but the staff answers questions very promptly by messaging.
What could be improved: It was all good.Joel from Australia – 3 April 2025 (9/10)
Spacious room with seperate shower and toilet. Full size fridge and balcony. The hotel is also in the middle of amemura
Tiana from Australia – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
Lovely apartment. Clean, modern facilities. Fantastic location with a short walk to Dotonbori and the river.
Janine from United Kingdom – 27 March 2025 (9/10)
I love the location! Close proximity to convenience stores, restaurants, Glico sign, Don Quijote, and train stations! Very reasonable price. Modern property. Responsive live chat thru Booking.com app. Easy check-in and check-out.
What could be improved: Our room was situated next to the motorway, and at night, the noise from passing vehicles was still audible, which slightly disrupted our sleep.Esther from Canada – 24 March 2025 (9/10)
We love the facilities and the beds were huge and comfy.
The place is also very clean which made the stay more comfortable.
We stayed in an air bnb with no elevator so we can't help but be thankful that this one has.
What could be improved: Washing machine is present but it's hard to dry clothes and you gotta be creative on where to hang em. Otherwise, can't really complain.Emi-loree from United Arab Emirates – 22 March 2025 (8/10)
Great location. Just a short walk away from the main street
What could be improved: Room was a little dated but was expected. It was still a lovely stay!Matthreese from Australia – 2 March 2025 (9/10)
Room was good, had all necessary amenities. Street noise if you are in a front of building apartment is a bit loud. Hanging space inside fir washed clothing would have been useful.
Michelle from Canada – 14 February 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: The washer and dryer are not enough when most of the guests yse them at night
Lincoln from Australia – 4 February 2025 (9/10)
Location is excellent and room is big. Bedding is comfortable. Size of the toilet and bathroom are spacious. Namba Junior station is close by. Supermarket and department store are close by.
What could be improved: No clothes dryer or table to eat at since it has a kitchen.
