You know what struck me first about Apartment Hotel 11 Namba? The fact that it’s tucked away on this quiet little stretch of Motomachi, but you’re literally a three-minute walk from all the madness of Dotonbori. I mean, staying right in the thick of Namba can be overwhelming – the neon, the crowds, the constant hum of tourists taking selfies with the Glico man. But here, you get this perfect buffer zone where you can actually hear yourself think.

The building itself has that clean, modern Japanese efficiency thing down to a science. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no endless paperwork), and honestly, the apartment-style setup makes so much more sense than cramming into a standard hotel room, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either – there’s a Lawson literally around the corner, and the Kuromon Ichiba market is maybe a seven-minute walk if you want to grab some proper ingredients. I actually ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, well, hotel breakfast gets old fast, and there’s something satisfying about making your own coffee while looking out at the quiet side streets before the city fully wakes up.

What really sells this place though is how it sits in relation to everything else. You’ve got Nippombashi (the electronics district) right there if you’re into that scene, but you’re also walking distance to the more traditional shopping along Sennichimae. The subway connections are solid too – Nippombashi Station puts you on both the Kintetsu and Subway lines, which means you’re not stuck doing the tourist shuffle through Namba Station every time you want to go somewhere. Late at night, when you’re walking back from dinner or drinks, the streets around here feel safe and residential rather than like you’re navigating through a theme park. There’s this little yakitori place about two blocks over that barely fits eight people, and the owner recognized me by the third night – that’s the kind of neighborhood feel you get staying here instead of in one of those massive chain hotels closer to the station. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you factor in all these little details that add up to just making your stay easier and more comfortable. It’s not flashy, but it works exactly how you’d want it to.

  Nice clean and spacious hotel room that fit our family of 5. Beds were big and lounge area and kitchen were fantastic for our stay. Was easy to collect keys from a lockbox when we checked in as we arrived late at night.
