Apartment Hotel 11 Namba-Minami Ebisucho-Eki Mae Overview

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment hotel tucked away in this corner of Namba, but Apartment Hotel 11 seriously surprised me. The location is actually perfect if you want to be close to all the action but not right in the thick of the tourist chaos – it’s literally steps from Ebisucho Station, which honestly makes getting around Osaka so much easier than staying in the main Dotonbori area where you’re fighting crowds just to get to the subway.

The building itself is pretty typical modern Japanese style, nothing fancy from the outside, but inside it’s got that clean, minimalist thing going on that just works. What I really appreciated was how quiet it was – I mean, you’re still in the city so there’s some street noise, but nothing like what you’d get closer to the main entertainment districts. The apartments (because that’s really what they are) have actual kitchenettes, which is a game-changer if you’re staying more than a couple nights or if you want to grab some of those amazing bento boxes from the convenience stores and eat somewhere other than a park bench. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious too – not always a given in Japan, let’s be real.

Here’s the thing about this neighborhood that most tourists miss: you’re actually in prime position to explore some of the best local spots. There’s this incredible ramen place about two blocks away that doesn’t have an English menu but serves the kind of tonkotsu that’ll ruin you for anywhere else. And honestly, being near Nipponbashi means you’re walking distance to Den Den Town if you’re into electronics or anime stuff, but you’re also just a quick train ride to Osaka Castle or Sumiyoshi Taisha if you want the traditional experience. The staff spoke decent English and were genuinely helpful – not just polite-helpful, but actually gave me solid recommendations for places to eat that weren’t in my guidebook. Check-in was smooth, though they do have specific hours so don’t roll up at midnight expecting someone to be there. I stayed during cherry blossom season and while the area got busier during the day, evenings were still pretty chill. The only minor thing is that the walls are a bit thin, so you might hear your neighbors if they’re being loud, but that’s pretty standard for this type of place in Japan. For the price point and that 9 rating it’s got, I totally get why people keep coming back here.

  • Monika from Lithuania – 26 May 2025 (9/10)

Spacious apartment comparing to other hotel rooms in Japan where we stayed, having your balcomy and kitchen is amazing, as well as some place in wardrobe – none of these were included for our similar stays in Japan hotels for same or even higher price. Small kitchen is very huge advantage because downstairs only 20 meters aways is Lawson convenience store, 7/11 in around 40 meters, same as another Lawson. So, you can easily take some food from these stores and eat it comfortably in your room or cook something as all most important cooking equipment is there. Perfect availability to commute to anywhere as all the main stations are nearby. Clean apartment, all needed amenities are there.
Easy to self check in ot check out.
Very helpful staff who responded all my questions within 10minutes via chat during our stay.
Many nices bars and restaurants just 5min walk from apartment.

What could be improved: We did not see ant dissadvantages during our stay. Maybe only one that sometimes ir got a bit loud at night because of intense car/trucks traffic outside.

  • Andrada from Romania – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: it was very noisy at night. like you had no windows. they provide earplugs, but i can't sleep with them. peallows were alsow not so comfy

  • Ramiz from Australia – 5 May 2025 (9/10)

Cleanliness, location, comfort, ease of getting there

    What could be improved: None

  • Daniel from Czech Republic – 2 May 2025 (9/10)

Amazing location nearby a metro station and within a walking distance to Shinsekai and Dotonbori. Self-service system without a flaw – you can even get some extra stuff (towels, etc.) without needing to talk to anyone. We had an amazing view at Tsutenkaku tower from the 14th floor. The room was a bit small, but for a Japanese hotel it was suficient and it had everything we needed. Recommended.

What could be improved: We would not mind an extra pillow, the one that we both had wasn't the best. But that is the only minor detail we can think of.

  • Jianfei from Hungary – 1 May 2025 (8/10)

Location and clean apartmant, smooth communication.

What could be improved: The walls were thin, and there was a street noise every evening/ morning. Bed was small and uncomfortable.
