Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartment Hotel 11 Namba Minami,” I wasn’t expecting much. The name’s pretty generic, and three stars in Osaka can be… well, let’s just say it’s a gamble. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible.

The location is what really sold me on it. You’re right in Nippombashi – I mean, most tourists don’t even know this neighborhood exists, but it’s basically where locals actually hang out. You’ve got this perfect spot where you can walk to all the Namba craziness (we’re talking maybe 8-10 minutes to Dotonbori), but when you come back at night, it’s actually quiet enough to sleep. The building sits on this narrow street that feels distinctly residential, with those little convenience stores and tiny restaurants that don’t have English menus – you know, the good stuff. There’s this amazing takoyaki stand literally around the corner that I stumbled onto around 11 PM one night, and honestly, it was better than anything I had in the tourist areas.

What I really appreciated about this place was how it felt more like staying in someone’s apartment than a sterile hotel room. The units are small – I mean, this is Japan, so obviously – but they’re laid out smart. You’ve got a little kitchenette that’s actually functional (not just for show), and the bathroom has one of those deep Japanese tubs that you can actually soak in after walking around the city all day. The bed was surprisingly comfortable too, though the walls are a bit thin – I could occasionally hear my neighbors, but nothing too disruptive. Check-in was super smooth, even with my terrible Japanese, and the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. They gave me this little hand-drawn map of the neighborhood with their favorite spots marked, which was such a nice touch.

Here’s the thing that really got me – the whole area comes alive differently depending on when you’re there. Mornings are quiet and almost meditative, with older folks heading to the local shrine a few blocks away. But evenings? The narrow streets fill up with salary workers grabbing drinks and students heading to the gaming centers. You’re close enough to Kuromon Market that you can grab incredible fresh sushi for breakfast (seriously, go before 9 AM), and the Nipponbashi electronics district is right there if you’re into that scene. The subway connections are solid too – Nippombashi Station is maybe a 3-minute walk, and from there you can get anywhere in the city without dealing with the tourist crowds at Namba Station. I ended up extending my stay an extra two nights because I just really liked the vibe of coming “home” to this little corner of Osaka that felt authentic and lived-in, rather than like a hotel in the middle of everything touristy.

Reviews

  • Daisy from Belgium – 18 June 2025 (9/10)

Spacious appartement with air-conditioning and facilities. We loved the drying function for the clothes in the bathroom. It was really easy to wash clothes at this place. It was located on a 5 min walk of the subway station. Check-in and check-out process was quick and clear because of the shared instructions.

What could be improved: All the cutlery was in pairs of 2 so we had to wash it everyday when we would eat in the appartement. Otherwise we cannot think of anything inconvenient about this place.

  • James from Australia – 1 April 2025 (9/10)

A great small apartment for 1-2 people. Has washing facilities, modern Japanese amenities and was very comfortable. Very close to the metro which was convenient.

I'll be staying here again next trip to Osaka!

  • Shaina from Australia – 16 January 2025 (9/10)

Stayed 4 days 3 nights. Self check-in instruction was clear and straight forward. We arrived before check in time, hence stored our luggage at the lobby. It was really close to the train station (less than 5mins walk) easy to commute to places. Laundry shop was across the road although the apartment itself has a washing machine but didn’t have a dryer. There’s grocery shops down the street and the place is really quiet. Room and bathroom was neat and clean, well maintained overall.

  • Tanja from Germany – 27 December 2024 (9/10)

Good location & very nice little apartment with everything you might need for a few days.

What could be improved: Communication with staff was very bad. Did not receive the final code for the key and therefore almost could not check in. While this is not the problem of the cleaning staff on the location (they tried to help within their means) no other support e.g. emergency number or property manager was available.

  • Ana from Canada – 14 December 2024 (9/10)

New building with great location. Grocery and convenience stores, train station, and a luggage delivery service centre are just a few minutes walk away. Facility is unmanned but there are some extra amenities available in the lobby.
The room is clean and very spacious for two people. The in-room appliances are new and modern. Room is well lit especially in the mornings because of the natural light coming from the balcony.

  • Omer from United Kingdom – 1 December 2024 (9/10)

    Good location
    Easy self check in
    Good room size

What could be improved: There was no iron available despite us asking several times – had to wear creased clothes

  • Dah from Singapore – 30 November 2024 (9/10)

Our first trip to Japan. The property is located so well that its only one train stop to namba, Osaka Kizu Market is nearby, plus 3 supermarkets within.

    What could be improved: NIL

  • Toli from Australia – 15 November 2024 (9/10)

Great location and the accommodation was set up nicely and very clean. Easy to check-in and check-out

  • Dominique from Australia – 10 November 2024 (8/10)

Tucked away in a quieter part of town but still close to the train station – easy to access Namba and Dotonbori

  • Abdullah from Singapore – 15 October 2024 (9/10)

It is very convenient location near subway metro line. Around the apartment location there is easy access to life supermarket where you can buy your essentials or ingredients if you want to cook. Very easy to check in too.

What could be improved: Currently the time period that I stayed there, there is upgrading and renovation going on around it. So there may be noises that can be heard. Overall, it is good.
