APA Hotel Yodoyabashi Ekimae Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to APA Hotel Yodoyabashi Ekimae, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I need to be” feeling. It’s one of those three-star places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — just solid, reliable, and honestly pretty smart about what business travelers actually want. The lobby’s compact but efficient, and you can tell right away that this place has figured out the formula for keeping guests coming back.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s the thing about staying near Yodoyabashi Station in Osaka — you’re basically in the heart of the business district, but it’s not stuffy or intimidating. I mean, you can walk to Osaka Castle in about fifteen minutes if you’re feeling touristy, but you’re also surrounded by all these little office worker haunts that serve incredible ramen and yakitori. The subway connections are ridiculously good from here, and honestly, couples seem to love this spot (they rate the location 8.3, which makes sense when you see how easy it is to get anywhere).

The Room Experience

Look, APA hotels have a very specific vibe with their rooms — compact but thoughtfully designed. The room I stayed in was small by Western standards, but everything had its place, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. What really impressed me was how quiet it stayed despite being right by the station. You know what’s actually great? The little touches like having a decent desk setup and reliable wifi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes.

Breakfast and Bathing

The breakfast buffet here is pretty solid — they do both American and Japanese options, so you can have your eggs and bacon or go for rice and miso soup depending on your mood. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done and honestly tastes better than a lot of hotel breakfast spreads I’ve had. What really sets this place apart though is the public bath situation. There’s an open-air bath on the upper floors, and after a long day of walking around Osaka, soaking there while looking out over the city lights is actually kind of perfect.

Why Guests Love It

The repeat guest thing here is real — and I get why. This isn’t the kind of place that wows you with flashy amenities, but it consistently delivers on the basics that matter. The parking is available if you’re driving (though honestly, you probably don’t need a car in this location), and the staff seems to remember regular visitors. It’s that reliable middle ground where you know exactly what you’re getting, the price makes sense, and you’re not dealing with any unpleasant surprises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a hotel stay.

Reviews of APA Hotel Yodoyabashi Ekimae

  • Algernon from Japan – 9 June 2025 (8/10)

The room was very nice and standard of APA hotel, despite being small, it has everything and is fairly comfortable to stay. The hot spring was pretty enjoyable and the crowdedness information on the TV was very helpful.

What could be improved: The breakfast was pretty lacklustre (especially for the price it was commanding), and could do better with either higher quality ingredients, or more variety. The hot spring perhaps could be open longer into the night, as so to have a better chance to enjoy it.

  • Mukherjee from Japan – 25 May 2025 (7/10)

    Clean

What could be improved: Room was extremely small. Don’t even have space to step out of bed

  • Alexander from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (8/10)

Good location, close to metro station. Convenience store across the street. In-house onsen was great! Whole hotel is very modern, clean and sleek throughout.

What could be improved: Tiny room, was a struggle to open suitcase fully but at least you can store it open under the bed and slide it out when you need things.

  • Sophia from Australia – 22 May 2025 (8/10)

    Good location and very comfortable

  • Mikiko from Australia – 21 May 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Room is small

  • Tomo from Australia – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

    Breakfast was delicious!

  • Jakub from Czech Republic – 11 April 2025 (8/10)

The location is really great and near a subway. The room was fine with all you need. Bathroom was fine, each day clean towels was nice. Checkout was really fast thanks to automatic checkout if you don't need to pay something extra. If you plan to just sleep at hotel and travel during day it was great. There is also 7/11 across the street ( like 10m away) if you like. Charger / controls next to bed ( sadly just usb-A , but its still fine ).

What could be improved: Only downside was that the mattress was worn out in one spot a little. For some people maybe central AC, but the temperature was okay for me.

  • Sagun from Nepal – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

    Good breakfast. Best location

  • Christoph from United States – 17 February 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Facilities are minimal, the Onsen is not very clean.

    The breakfast

What could be improved: The room and bethroom is a little small to me
