APA Hotel & Resort Osaka Namba Ekimae Tower Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the APA Hotel & Resort Osaka Namba Ekimae Tower? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – I mean, “resort” had me expecting something completely different. But honestly, that worked in its favor because I went in with zero expectations and left pretty impressed with what you get for a solid 3-star spot.
The location is absolutely killer, and I’m not just saying that because it’s convenient (though it really is). You’re literally steps from JR Namba Station, which means you can stumble out of bed and be on a train to Kyoto in about ten minutes if you want. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize – being right on Minatomachi puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to all the Dotonbori madness but far enough away that you’re not hearing drunk salarymen singing karaoke until 3 AM. I actually slept really well, which is saying something because I’m usually a light sleeper and Osaka can be… well, Osaka.
The rooms are classic APA style – compact but surprisingly functional. Everything’s where it should be, the bed’s comfortable enough, and the bathroom’s one of those efficient Japanese setups where every inch is used perfectly. The front desk staff spoke decent English, which was helpful when I needed restaurant recommendations (they pointed me toward this amazing takoyaki place about two blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise). What really sold me on the place was the little details – the way they handle luggage storage before check-in, how quick the elevators are despite the building height, and honestly just the general vibe of the staff who seem to actually care about doing their jobs well. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but it’s that kind of reliable, no-nonsense place where everything just works like it should. Plus, at an 8.4 rating, you know other travelers are having similar experiences – that consistency is worth something when you’re navigating a city as intense as Osaka.

Reviews of APA Hotel & Resort Osaka Namba Ekimae Tower

Affordable and good location
What could be improved: It’s a bit small though enough for 1 personErik from Fiji – 18 June 2025 (8/10)
Loved the 7/11 inside the hotel.
Loved the assistance we received in transferring our luggage
What could be improved: No fault of the hotel, but other APA hotels had a location closer to 'the action'. So it was a bit of a walk from this hotel.Shelley from Australia – 17 June 2025 (9/10)
The hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to most metro lines and trains. Easy walk to shops, restuarants and sights (Dotonbori is very close) and there is a 7/11 directly outside the hotel as well as one inside on level 4 with the spa and laundry which is very convenient. The room itself was a good size for Japan with the bed being very comfy. The slippers and robes provided were very nice and the bathroom was also a good size with soap, shampoo, hairbursh and shavers provided. Checking in and out is very quick as it's all automated (don't have to talk to someone unless there's an issue). There's also the possibility of extending check-out for a certain amount of time (for a fee) which allowed me to stay in my room until 5pm as my flight wasn't until 10pm that night.
What could be improved: The lifts do take a while during peak times as there's so many people trying to go up and down, including to the 4th floor with the onsen and other ammenities. The onsen as well was very busy at a lot of times which might not be for everyone. The laundry was similar, very busy and not enough machines.T from Australia – 17 June 2025 (9/10)
Included hot springs, pre and after spring amenities.
Luggage keeping service.
Daily new towels and yukata.
Can control air conditioner in room.
Helpful staff.
Good base location for trips such as hiroshima, kyoto klook day trips.
What could be improved: Small room size but expected for inner city.Tina from Australia – 16 June 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: machine check-in was impersonal …had some difficulties and needed an actual staff member to help me.Davide from Italy – 15 June 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Be aware of small roomsAlixandra from United Kingdom – 15 June 2025 (8/10)
Good location. The spa was great to use and they store luggage after your stay.
What could be improved: Room was very small and there was no storage under the bed (unlike other ApA hotels) which made things difficultSuhail from Saudi Arabia – 13 June 2025 (9/10)
It's location and it's adjacent to Namba station. The breakfast was wonderful 😋.
What could be improved: Nothing to say.Michael from Switzerland – 10 June 2025 (7/10)
Ceap, convenient, clean.
What could be improved: Cushions uncomfortable. A bit hot in the room. Rooms quite small.
